A different day off

Another empty park, but for different reasons than yesterday.
Not at all as happy and smiley and sunny as yesterday. I was soaked into my underwear after an hour and a half power walk.
It's not too bad though actually. I have a few things I want to sort out in the flat, and a pile of Dvd's to be watched.

Another glorious day in London and I was stuck at work. Finished at 5pm though and now I've got two days off. Tjohoo! Fingers crossed for great weather but rumour has it that it's changing for tomorrow:( I'm sure I'll survive that as well but it would be nicer to spend them on a blanket in the park.

Threw my clothes off as soon as I got home from work and ran out on the balcony. Even though it was already half passed five it was still sweaty and hot. Have to put a top on and go to the shop for some food now. Can't believe it's August. What happened.

Messy hair after an hour or so relaxin in the park. I finished at 4pm and went straight to the shop and bought some snacky things (carrot,hummus,cheese etc) and then over the road to the park where we've sat until now. Gorgeous day. Bought two Dvd's and got some camembert in the oven so now it's film time. Hope you've had the weekend off to enjoy this beautiful weather.

We had a nice lie in and later when the Italian went to the gym I went for a lovely power walk. Happy people around jogging, walking or just hanging out in the sunshine.

Time for a well needed shower and then unfortunately off to work. The Italian is off this weekend, off course, when I am working night tonight. A shame but never mind. Our time will come. We ate so much last night. In my head I was still going to stick to my no carb diet, but that went out the window after about two minutes when I had a glass of Prosecco in front of me and some gorgeous cicchetti mainly consisting of mini bruschetta with various toppings. After that I decided to leave the diet at home and eat whatever was put in front of me. After all, this is one of the best restaurants in London at the moment, so it would be silly to miss out. We continued down to the restaurant after a while and had an amazing melon soup, and then something I've never tried before. Scallop carpaccio with anjovis - just enough to add a gorgeous salty flavour to it. It was the best carpaccio ever. When Vanessa's boyfriend Ben arrived the Italian showed his sense of humour and sent up a lonely uncooked carrot on a plate and said that was all they could do for vegetarians. Haha he's too funny. After that he presented the most gorgeous vegetarian meal for him though, and then we all had a portion of Gnocchi - once again, the best Gnocchi ever, I never even used to like Gnocchi. They then asked us what we'd like for our main course. Pardon?
I chose grilled prawns. Yum! For dessert we got two massive plates. One with the most delicious lemon tart and the other had some Italian home made biscuits (I've forgotten the name now) with peach cream and berries - it was phenomenal. And then the big surprise for me that he'd kept telling me about, Frangelico sour jelly. Mmmmm it tasted exactly like the cocktail. It was beautiful. I am so proud of my man for being such a good chef and host. Got up early this morning when he went off to a meeting and I've had time for a power walk. He just came back home now and we're going to chill for a bit before heading to work.

A few weeks ago I saw an offer on Groupon that I couldn't refuse.

For a while now I've been interested in a cellulite treatment.

I wasn't sure if it would work and since it is so expensive I didn't think it'd be worth all that money in case it's not working.

But the offer gave me 70% off and I jumped at the chance. Yesterday was my first session out of 6 so I will keep you posted how it goes. I did take a before picture so if I am brave enough I might show you before and after.

I am going to do a more detailed post about how it works next week when I've been for my second and third session but this is what the machine looks like at least.

It scared the life out of me when I first came in and I thought it would really hurt.

I haven't told the Italian about it so it will be interesting to see if he notices any difference in a few weeks when I'm finished.

Weird things happening.

I am always late and if not, if I'd manage to get somewhere on time it is only just though. Both yesterday and today I've turned up EARLY for appointments. I am now sitting in the apple store on regent street waiting for my 6pm appointment to sort out my phone. And when I'm done here I'll head straight to the restaurant and turn up EARLY for my dinner with Ness. Strange.

Wow, what a week.

It's been non stop so I am sorry that I've neglected you.

Monday and Tuesday I worked from 8am - 8pm and I didn't do much else.

Although, actually I did go to the cinema on Monday night - Bridesmaids. A must if you like to laugh. It is the funniest film I've watched in a long time!

I was off yesterday and the day flew by.

I woke up about 8am and went for a power walk for an hour and 20 minutes. I came home and started a book (very rare that I just sit down and read) After a couple of hours I went for a run and did 20 minutes Zumba.

I needed some Jeans and went to H&M in One New Change and came out with a beautiful dress and some earrings instead.

A few doors down at Top Shop though I bought a pair of Jeans that were ok.

And then I jumped on the train at Liverpool Street to Ilford for my Spa Treatment - more about that later.

And then I went home, cooked some nice dinner and relaxed that much that I actually finished my book that I started the same morning.

And today I am back at work and I am meeting Vanessa at Tempo tonight for dinner.

There's a car park in East London that I cycle through every day on my way to work.

On the one side as you come in there is a sign that looks like this.

Completely normal and makes sense in any way considering that this is a car park.

I'm thinking it is a bit pointless.

I mean fire exit ?? The whole car park is a big fire exit...

The film was really funny (Horrible bosses) and now we've put on our 3D glasses. Why? Is it to watch the new Harry Potter film at a massive screen in Leicester Square. No it's to watch Street Dance in our living room. Writing this on my iPhone with 3D glasses on is quite weird.

I woke up with a sore head today and went straight out for a power walk.

Just got home now and had some breakfast,

It was a good night last night.

I wore my new shoes last night but didn't take any pictures at all.

I did however send these two to the Italian to tell him that me and my prostitute red lipstick and my new shoes were going out.

And then I got on the tube and travelled to Clapham. It took me 45 minutes.

H and I left the bar at 12.10 as the others were off out to a club, arrived at the tube station 12.15 only to find out that the last tube had gone, 12.15!! On a Saturday!! In London!! I never travel on the tube so I had no idea it was so bad.

Got a taxi to Victoria and then a bus to Liverpool Street and then another taxi from there since the bus I wanted to change to had moved somewhere else. All in all it took me two and a half hours to get home! Insane.

I said I was going to take my mind off Norway and go out. That didn't work very well. I spoke about it to everyone I met... It is just so, so sad.

I am now going to go and lie down and wait for the Italian to come home from the gym and then we might go and make something of this beautiful sunny day.

I had an email from daily candy that I've written about before, and they have a really interesting party going on Saturday night. I really wish I was off and could go, but I don't finish until 6pm.

I went to swap the shoes after work and I ended up staying in there forever. I love the feeling in there, it's like lounging in somebody's living room. You end up swapping fashion tips with the girl next to you and all of a sudden a couple of guys walk in to buy shoes for their girlfriend/wife and everybody gets involved and models shoes for them.
Forgot all about my food delivery and obviously missed my slot. He couldn't wait for me to come home and was supposed to come back between 8-9pm but still no sign.
Here are the shoes that the Italian bought me (such a gorgeous colour) and I went in to change the size and left with a completely different pair and day dreams about another pair... I'll show them to you later.

We never made it to the cinema yesterday. Instead we stayed in and had a film marathon.

The Italian started to watch Hurt Locker and I did lots of other things and after a while I got in a pissy mood and thought that the film had gone on for about two weeks and it was really boring, so I went and sat on the balcony in the rain and watched videos on my phone instead. Afterwards we watched the romcom and later in the evening we watched Saw - episode 512 or something like that. I loved the first three Saw films. After that I think enough is enough but I still leave the films thinking, ah right that was clever. This one however was a little bit too much blood and not enough brain.

We might make it to the cinema tonight instead, but it depends on what time the Italian comes home from the gym. I'm in need of a shower after a sweaty run and workout. The film starts at 8.30pm (in 20 minutes) so we'll see.

You probably won't believe me if I tell you, but I got to open another present today. Today is my name-day which is something we celebrate in Sweden. I know most countries don't, but in Spain for example it's almost bigger than your birthday. It's not that big in Sweden but it's still usually acknowledge in some small way. My parents gave me a present before I left that I was to open today. My eyes had hardly opened before I ripped the paper off (I get childishly excited about presents), and it was a Swedish film that I really wanted to see at the cinema but missed last time I was home. I've got the other two so I can't wait to see this one.

I looked through these recipe books to find my dinners for this week. Logged onto Sainsbury's and ordered all the ingredients to arrive at my house on Wednesday when I come home from work. I love that you could practically run your life from your living room if you needed. At least it's good for days like today when I don't really feel well enough to be running around in busy supermarkets

The Italian and I were so excited to be off together today but he's just gone to bed for a bit with shivering cold, and I've got a really bad headache that feels like it's coming from my sinuses. On Tuesday morning my parents took us to the airport in Gothenburg and on the way there we stopped in Varberg, a town that's pretty much half way there.

After receiving all my thousands of present we all went to Salt - a stunning restaurant in Tylösand by the sea.

It was so nice of them to acknowledge my birthday in Tylösand

DESSERT! The best I've had for a long time. In Sweden we have a chocolate called Plopp (I know funny name) and it is milk chocolate filled with caramel. This was a plopp brownie with fudge sauce and banana Ice Cream. Two big pieces of Plopp baked into the brownie. Yum!

Sweden cont. - lunch with Mum and Dad

After our day in Gothenburg we stayed over at my sisters house.

The next day we went to Mum and Dad to spend some time with them before heading out to my friends house for a crayfish-party/barbecue.

The Italian joined in time for dessert (cheesecake) after he'd finished in my parents gym downstairs.

Sweden - day 1.

I am sorry, I've had complaints that I haven't posted photos from Sweden yet. The computer has been super slow so by the time I got somewhere it was time to get ready for work (I've worked 2pm-midnight every day apart from Wednesday when I worked 8am-8pm). Today I start an hour later so I should have time to organise a few photos. Let's start with our gorgeous day in Gothenburg when we arrived.

After a couple of hours in town for some shopping we ended up in this gorgeous restaurant for lunch. Paper menus is so last season - here you get an ipad each to look at while you decide what you'd like.

I went for a super Swedish sill plate. Yum! I have to say that it was a touch over priced though for what we got. My sister and her husband left hungry - not a good sign. I think we were paying for the use of the iPad perhaps...

I got obsessed with this. Mr Glace found a wife. Apparently she appeared at the same time as our Royal wedding in Sweden last year. I tried to explain to the Italian how weird I found it to see him with a wife. He didn't understand and you probably won't either...

On the way home we stopped at a Salmon Restaurant and the Italian (who on the way in said that he wasn't very hungry and he'd probably only have a cup of coffee) ordered the deluxe eleven different Salmon plate.

The rest of us went for the usual Swedish style salmon potato combo.

A great start to the weekend.

I've prepared a couple more post to appear during the day while I'm at work and then the rest will come tomorrow.

It's official the mobile blogging says no!

I had to copy and paste yesterday and post it from a computer without photo etc. Tried another one this morning but still nothing.

While I'm waiting for all the pictures to get uploaded to the computer I give you my lovely presents.

A fondue set with dark chocolate and marshmallows from A's mum. Yum!

A card with money towards two suitcases that I am going to buy next week, very much needed sine we had to break in to the other one when we got back from Italy.

A super cute tray that I've had my eyes on for a while filled with goodies for the flat, a flower cutter - well needed as well, Organic olive oil soap, organic natural smelly candle and a necklace and bracelets from my Australian "family", a gorgeous rocky cool bracelet from E before we left for Sweden, another cool bag lady bracelet from T and P, a gm top that I really needed, a Paul Frank t-shirt (used to be obsessed with Paul Frank and wore nothing else for a while), a really funny Swedish show called Solsidan on DVD (I finished watching it in two days - want more), a really cool card that tells a story about 11th July and who else was born on that day etc, and a beautiful ring from Efva Attling (LOVE) that says Penchez de Moy which means "Think of Me" in old style French.

Isn't it the most gorgeous thing ever.

Mobile failure

Sorry, I've tried to blog via the phone the last two days since we came back to London but it doesn't seem like it worked?!? Let's see if this works better. It sucks being back, but I'm keeping myself busy so I'll forget how much I want to be back in Sweden. It's always nice to come home though after you've been away, I just wish that home was in Sweden... I always feel like this for a few days after I've been away but I'm sure I'll snap out of it soon. Sorry for bad posts but I am too busy enjoying myself here in beautiful Sweden. It makes me so happy being here. It's calm and clean and gorgeous. We had a crayfish party last night with all my beautiful friends. And today we went to Båstad and sat in a gorgeous cafe by the sea. I'm loving every minute of it and tonight we're off out for dinner by the sea again.

After a lovely day in Gothenburg with some shopping, lunch, fika at Haga (the cutest place ever) a stroll in slottsparken and then dinner on the way home in a salmon restaurant I can safely say that we've had an amazing day. We've now landed at my sisters place where we are spending the night. The Italian has already gone to sleep and my niece just followed. I am going to try and stay up for a couple of more hours and chat to my sister and her husband. And then an early bed I think so we can have yet another amazing day tomorrow. I love being in Sweden:)
One thing I miss in London are all the different amazing coffee houses everywhere. Even the most simple place feels like a five star treat.

Tonight has been all about packing and getting ready for Sweden trip this weekend. I also needed to get the flat visitor ready since E and P are going to come over from Stockholm and stay here while we're away. That is such a brilliant timing. We've got someone in the flat while we are away and they get somewhere to stay on their own while they are here.
Watching iTunes festival on the computer now. Michael Kiwanuka was absolutely amazing and kept me company while I was packing. Never heard of him before, but I am planning to hear more of him soon.
And now the beautiful, gorgeous, amazingly talented Adele is keeping me and my cup of tea entertained. I tried to win tickets but it was a no go. Every song she plays I shout Yes! This is my favourite song (to myself since there's no one else here). Haha. Surely they can't all be my favourites. I think they might be though. They are all amazing!!

Busy week

This week has flown by. Didn't finish til 8pm on Monday, worked from 6-17 on Tuesday and finished about 7.30pm yesterday. This meant that all I've done is come home, have dinner and sleep. I've done some running and exercises in the mornings.
I still felt like I didn't have much energy and this resulted in very exciting food choices. Pic one - dinner last night. Pic two - dinner tonight. Pic three - lunch box for tomorrow. The inspiration and fantasy is flowing here.

Usually I pay £65 for my hair cut. Tommy was booked up for the only time I could go this week so I went back to hair by fairy which is a really cool and funky place I used to go to before when my hair was a bit longer and it didn't matter too much about the cut.

I thought to myself that it is a bit of a risk asking them to do what Tommy does, but at £13 I thought it was worth a try.

If the Italian and I are ever going to own our own place here in London, I probably need to start looking at these things.

I am not really a party animal so I have realised that the major outgoings I've got are for Beauty (hair mostly) and food - restaurants, weekly shop etc.

I have to say that I am very pleased with the result.

One of the photos is from the last time when Tommy did it and the other one from my £13 cut today.

They literally treat you like a piece of meat when you get there. You sit in a queue and they start by washing your hair, back in the queue until someone is free to cut you.
There is no head massage, no massaging chair, no love. Just in and out cut.
Since I am always running off somewhere and always short of time I really quite like this fact.

A good start with a 45 minute run and then a walk up to the flower market.

And after a few hours in the park while the Italian was at the gym (mostly cloudy though unfortunately), we finished watching the second season of Lie To Me.

Continued on with Inception (loved it) and now I am watching my Step Up 2 again because he wanted to see it as well.

We've had such a nice relaxing weekend after two great nights Thursday and Friday.

Lazy Saturday

After two big nights the Italian and I have had a slow day today. I did go for a run and do 45 min Zumba, and he went to the gym. But apart from the it's been all about the sofa and Lie To Me.
I'm now digging in to the champagne truffles that J got me yesterday.

I got so many amazing things.

It feels like they all know me well and realised that I accessorize quite a bit.

I wanted to download Beyonces new album ever since it came out on Monday, but for some reason I stopped myself.

And then ten minutes before we left for the party I downloaded it so we could listen to it while we were getting ready.

So annoying, but I will swap it for something else.

I did however get a sample from her new perfume with the CD as well. Hmm - don't give up your day job just yet Beyonce. It just wasn't very nice at all. It smells like something you want your kids to stay far away from. Some sweets with far too many colourings in it.

And then the cards, I love birthday cards, I love reading what people have been writing inside and I love to see what kind of cards they chose for me.

These are all so different so I don't really know how to interpret it.

Most of them are of the fluffy cute variety though which goes well with my personality, and then Niall off course had to go and buy a vile one. Haha.

We had dinner in the private room at Shoreditch House

It is such a gorgeous room and pretty much my dream flat. High ceiling, old style ware house windows and a cracking view of East London

The food was amazing, lots of different dishes in the middle of the table for everyone to share. Almost like tapas.

As a started we had, Mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, baby octopus and calamari, parma ham with parmesan cheese and Ravioli

I got a new necklace from the girls that went beautifully with my dress

And a new bracelet from L that I also put on straight away. At least I think that's what the Italian took a photo of here.... not too sure

For main course we had, risotto primavera with goat cheese, lamb, chicken and sea bream

And dessert was panacotta with berries, lemon tart, tiramisu and cheese

After dinner we went up to the roof top and had cocktails by the pool

It was a lovely night, but since most of us had a long week before and some had to go home to their children it ended quite early and we were home by 2am.

We pretty much just woke up.

It was a great night last night, and I, as always, want to move into Shoreditch House.

It is such a gorgeous place.

I am now going to check the lottery numbers from last night (keep your fingers crossed) and have some breakfast.

Not much on the agenda today. I am going for a run and dong some Zumba at home.

I was planning to spend the day in the park, but the sun seems a bit uncertain of it's attendance today so I might have to leave that.

Today is all about no make up, fatty food and a summer dress.

My actual birthday party is tonight at Shoreditchhouse, but there are some people at work that, for various reasons, can't make it.

So they organised a surprise dinner for me at La Ratatouille last night.

Well, I say surprise, but I definitely knew something was up.

Everyone at work yesterday made a point of telling me their plans for the evening.

And then they gave each other that look.

The Italian was adamant that we HAD to go to Ratatouille for dinner last night even though I suggested maybe we'd go Saturday instead.

When Jennifer (who owns the restaurant, and also works with us) heard about this she bbm'd the Italian and asked him who wears the trousers in our house, get her to the restaurant. haha.

It was such a lovely evening, and I still can't get over the great present I got.

My birthday isn't actually until the week after next, and at first I didn't even want to celebrate this one. I've had a few crisis over the year about turning 30....

But now it seems like I'm milking it big time.

Dinner last night, party tonight, off to Sweden next weekend to celebrate it on my actual day.

Maybe the big 3-0 isn't too bad after all.

The flat we live in is quite small and the one book shelf I have is getting pretty over loaded.

So I've been thinking about buying one of these for a while, but never got around to it.

Last nights dinner

A very simple dinner that is healthy and quick.

Crack three eggs and add salt and pepper

Dice and slice. In this case feta cheese and tomatoes

Heat up some oil in the pan. Put in the eggs and after a while add the cheese and tomatoes.

Just before it's finished, add the spinach

And Voila! A feta, tomato and spinach omelet. Yum!

Today is easily the hottest day this year. I wish I could've been lying in the sun all day but I think it might've been too hot even for me that usually loves the heat. I finished at four though and I'm now sitting in the sun waiting for the Italian and two friends. We were supposed to meet at 4.30. No one else is here yet...
We are going to a 30th birthday party on a boat. Should be good fun. I assume it's a boat that doesn't move and it's more like a bar, but it's still a bit different from the places you usually go to.

There's a big concert week going on in Hyde Park this week and a few days ago my favourites Kings of Leon was there. Somehow I had completely missed this and therefor obviously didn't go. The day after I came into work and heard all about how amazing it had been. I put on my grumpy face and told them that I wasn't interested.
Today someone brings me a souvenir... A four day old VIP pass. Thanks but no thanks....

Speaking Italian

After speaking to the Italian last week about our next trip to Italy I realised that I need to stop lazying around about my Italian language learning.

Going to Italy is one of the most relaxing things to do, but I will off course enjoy it ten times more if I can actually communicate with people as well. Especially since I am a bit of a chatter box.

They might not like me as much if I get going, but that's a different matter.

I had an offer from Groupon that I couldn't resist, a 6 month course from Babbel for £5.

And yesterday I started, it's so much fun, and I rock. The Italian was next to me this morning as I continued on and he said that I will speak better Italian than him soon:)

I am so excited and can't wait to continue it tomorrow morning.

From now on I think we might have one day a week that is Italian speaking at home as well.

If there's any languages that you've thought about practising, Babbel is a great website, and whether you have a coupon or not the prices are really reasonable.

Last night's dinner

Last night the Italian and I jumped on the DLR and went to West India Quays to a restaurant called Dockmastershouse. It's a fine dining Indian Restaurant. We were only supposed to go to the bar, but by the time we got there I was absolutely starving so we ended up eating the kitchen as usual.

West India Quay was so beautiful, we'd never been before.

There is something about water that just puts me in a great mood every time, whether it's snowy or windy or rainy or sunny I love it in every condition.

Great night life as well, we both said that we'd love to live in a building with a cool bar downstairs. Every night you feel a bit thirsty you just nip downstairs to the cocktail bar.

We started off with some small platters in the bar, one vegetarian and one with sea food.

And quite a few cocktails as well.

And then we went for the full menu and ordered two main courses which was sent out with lots of extra side dishes and naan breads.

We practically licked the plates. It was really yummy.

After a few weeks of not much carbs and practically no sugar, I just went for all of it in one sitting.

It's interesting though I don't actually fancy sweets and chocolate anymore the way I used to.

Before I'd think of chocolate all day every day, I wouldn't eat it all day every day, but I'd think about it.

Now if someone mentions chocolate I'm like ah whatever almost.

But I'm still like a horse though, if anyone puts food or chocolate in front of me I'll eat it until it's finished.

Work out at home

I decided to buy the zumba Wii on my way home today since I finished too late to catch body conditioning or spinning.
I didn't do the full thing tonight I just chose an easy 20 minute program to see what it was like. I love it. I feel a bit sorry for my neighbour downstairs so I don't think I can do it too late at night but if his flat looks the same as ours I should be able to do it in the morning since he probable doesn't sleep in his living room.
You get a waist strap as well to put the remote in.
I am planning to look like the girl on the cover by the end of the summer. A bit to go yet, but anything is possible.
Challenge accepted!!

After my success with the Tzatsiki last night, and I was allowed to stay in bed afterwards. I decided to make another garlic themed sauce tonight. Two ripe avocados, a table spoon of Greek yoghurt, garlic and lots of salt and pepper. Yum! And now I'm going to build up my appetite again with something I bought earlier. More about that in a minute.

I love everything about net a porter. My dresses have already arrived at the office today.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll keep any of the dresses. One has already been put to the side because it looked really tacky. I didn't even try it. It was Vivianne Westwood and I had high hopes. But the two Diane Von Furstenberg got to come home with me and after dinner I'll try them on. But they both look massive. We'll see. At least I know that if they don't fit it's the easiest thing in the world to send them back. Let's see how it goes.

On Monday it's only two months left until I go to Italy and I can't wait.

Two Favourites

Sometimes you forget how beautiful London is. It's easy to just look at all the grey and concrete.

But on my way to work I cycle by two of my favourite buildings in London.

The first on is the Royal Court of Justice.

I don't know what it is that I love so much with this building, but I find it absolutely gorgeous.

I've only been inside once, for the after party of the premiere of V for Vendetta.

I've looked for the photos to see if I had some good ones of what it looks like inside, but I can't for the life of me find them.

And the second one is St Paul's Cathedral.

I've never been inside properly, but last time when my parents came to visit we had a little peak through the door right at the entrance.

I've always been fascinated my churches and cathedrals though and my dream is to convert and old church to my dream house one day.

Tonight

I hope that some of you have bought tickets for the party tonight.

I am not going to be able to make it unfortunately. When I first read about it I didn't know what I would be working today, and when I found out that I had the night off I was feeling a bit under the weather and wasn't sure how I'd be feeling by now.

I am feeling a bit better today, but as I understand it, it is now too late to buy tickets.

Back at work today and I have to say I still don't feel 100%.

The only symptom I have is a runny nose, but I feel weak and shaky at times.

Working all the way through until next Saturday now, so a long stretch to feel unwell.
Hopefully it'll go away soon.

The film was sh*t so I moved out on the balcony with Vogue instead. It's getting a bit chilly now though so I think a cup of tea on the sofa will suit me better. Especially since I'm still not very well. At least I decided not to go to Zumba tonight. I think I'm going to buy the Wii one instead.
I've just spent money I don't have on three dresses though so maybe not this week...

The Italian also bought Get him to the Greek the other day. He watched it while he was off on Sunday and I watched it today. Definitely not my cup of tea. It was far too much drug use for my likings. I'm now trying to watch the A-team from lovefilm, but it's already broken on me once so we'll see how this turns out.
I can't wait for my hair appointment next week. My fringe is too long so I feel like a man with a comb-over. I'm combing my fringe to one side to make it look like it's supposed to be like that.
And the roots needs to be done as well. I can't believe that we are going to Sweden in less than three weeks.
And mother in law called the other day to say that it is 60 days left until we come to Italy. So it must be about 55 days left now:)
Spoke to a friend in Fez this morning and I'd love to get a weekend in there this summer as well. And I want to visit Carolina in Barcelona. And when Carin's baby arrives I'm planning a trip to Oslo as well. I wish there were more weeks in the year. And especially more weeks in the summer:)
The DVD broke again. Let's try it in the laptop instead. Otherwise it's the third film in a row that I'm sending back that I wasn't able to watch. All other films work fine in the player. Tiring.

I think that's a fair percentage.
Body Combat was swapped for Body Conditioning and I felt quite shaky and weak at the end of it, so maybe a bit too soon to go back to the gym.
I'll see how I feel about Zumba later.
Didn't quite make it to Roland Mouret so I might just buy all the dresses from Net-A-Porter and try them on. I can always send three of them back that I like the least.
Caught up on Lie To Me this morning that I feel asleep to last night. Spent a few minutes in the sunshine on the balcony when I got home, but the cloud stole it now and I'm starving. Grilled vegetables with feta cheese and tzastiki is on the menu.

I thought I'd check out the sale on net-a-porter that I've tried to get my hands on for weeks, but it kept saying that the UK sale hadn't started yet. But now it's kicked off. I need a party dress for my birthday party next week. And all of a sudden I've got a subtotal of £813 in my shopping bag. I think I'll leave them there for a while and pop into the RM shop and see what they've got to offer first. And then when I get home I'll order one or two of the dresses.
I feel a bit better now so Body Combat it is. Speak later. X

Day off

I woke up when the Italian got up and I couldn't go back to sleep because of a blocked nose and aching head. I've been lying in bed now for the last couple of hours reading blogs and updated myself on my friends life on Facebook. Dealt with staff texting me to tell me that they are sick and can't work tonight. So on my one day off this week I have to find cover for a shift tonight. I am going to get out of bed now and make some breakfast. Hopefully I'll feel better after that. The cleaner is coming at 12 today so I have to get out of the flat by then anyway and there's a body combat class at 12.30 which would work perfectly.
I really miss Zumba, but because it's so late at night I rarely go. I'm going to see if they've got the new schedule out today. Otherwise I'm going to buy the Zumba for Wii later on and try that out.
A friend posted on Facebook that she's lost 19cm since she started with that. Or did she say inches? No that's impossible right? Either way, very interesting. And I like when you can work out at home yourself. No need for timetables etc. Anyway enough rambling. Let's get on with the day. Weather report? Grey off course and it seems like it's going to rain all day. Yay!

I've felt rotten all day at work and as I left to go home my whole body was aching and I was shivering. Half way home on the bike I started to feel a bit better. Just as I thought it, the rain started to pour. So by the time I got to Sainsbury's I was soaked. Half an hour later when I got home I was shivering again with a sore throat. My only day off this week seems to be spent in bed. Great! I had lots I wanted to do tomorrow though. I definately wanted to go to the gym since I haven't been for nearly two weeks. And I also wanted to go to Roland Mouret's shop on Mount Street because rumour has it there's a sale on. We'll see what I feel like when I wake up.
By the way, a big massive amazing Thank You to all of you who bought the Tinchy Strider song on iTunes. They came in at number five:) that is so brilliant:):)

New week

Although it feels like Sunday today for some reason.
Last night when I got home the Italian had been to the DVD shop.
I'd already seen the killers, but with my girl crush on Katherine Heigl I was more than happy to see it again.
But first we watched She's out of my league. I'm not sure if I was in a particularly giddy mood yesterday, but I found it really funny. I laughed almost all the way through.
I read somewhere that there was a Swedish girl in SATC2 and for some reason I thought it was the nanny. So when I realise that she was the hot girl in the film I said that to the Italian and he said I knew it, all hot girls are Swedish. And then as we watched the film I started to doubt myself. Googled her when the film was over and had to admit that she is in fact British.
She is very pretty indeed. Beautiful contagious smile.
I do however wonder who the Swedish girl is in SATC2 then?

Taste of London

So here it is, my verdict of the taste festival

Unfortunately we went on the most rainy night this year I believe so it took a bit of the excitement away.

Most people were cuddled up in the tents rather than sitting out on all the tablas and chairs in the sunshine.

We started off with a glass of prosecco to get us going. I'd only had half a bottle earlier with Jason and the Italian hadn't had any at all.

There were lots of stands for whatever you fancied, drinks, food - savoury and sweet,

ice cream (brrrr)

Fransesco Mazzei in action, here we didn't need to choose, he gave us all his dishes to try.

Most stands had three different dishes that you could buy, and each dish was priced between 8-12 crowns.

You can buy the crowns throughout the festival, but it is probably easier to start off and buy some at the entrance.

We bought two booklets, which is 40 crowns and that cost me £20.

So that means that the food is between £4-6, which, to me, is quite expensive.

Especially since they are only small tasting portions, and the ticket to get in to taste is £26 and you get nothing for that apart from the entry.

Because the weather was so bad it was hard to eat the food with so many people inside the tent at the same time, let alone to take photos of it, but I managed to get a photo of this Scallop and Prawn burger from Scott's. Very yummy.

There were a couple of tables in each tent, that could sit about six people each. Every tent we went into had every seat taken which meant that you were forced to stand up and eat.

I don't mind this too much, because it's on paper plates anyway and it gives it the festival feel which is after all what it is.

Now this is a stand that I got excited about, I thought everything had spelt in it, but it turned out that it was only a couple of their breads and a twirly thing with nuts in it.

Somehow I ended up with a brownie (no spelt in sight) and the twirly thing that was so filled with sugar that I was afraid my body would go into shock after my no sugar week.

There were also some interior design things for the house, and these things were right up my street

Organic Therapeutic Chocolate - Yum!

100% organic energy drink - very good.

And lastly a picture of the only Swedish thing I could find in there.

So apart from there not being enough Swedish things;)

What else did I think?

I thought that it is a very good way for London restaurants to show themselves and remind people that they exist. I think that today when there are new restaurants opening all the time, you forget a bit about the old ones.

I did however think that it was extremely over priced, both the ticket price and the dishes, and I wouldn't have gone if we also had to pay the entry fee (we got tickets for free through the Italians restaurant)

Although saying that, if it's a nice day and you've eaten something before you go in and treat it as a normal day in the pub, and just concentrate on the drink stands, wonder around and look for the free stuff, it could make a change to the normal weekend day you have.

They were giving out biscuits to try, and some ice cream, toffee shots, you could try all the wines in all the stands before buying.

And it is a bit of a social even off course and even with the rain people were in good spirits and seemed to enjoy themselves.

I do think that it, off course, would have been a different experience had the weather been better.

So would I go back?

I think if it was a nice sunny day and it was a big group of us that would go in the afternoon it would be a different thing and I probably would go back.

If you have tickets already go and check it out, just don't expect to get lots for your money.

Have a look at the website before you go, see what restaurants you would prefer to go to, and make sure you get a map when you get in (they are free).

Sleepy girl

I am sorry that there was no post about taste last night as I promised, but as the photos were uploading onto the blog I fell asleep on the sofa (about 7.30pm) and I didn't wake up until the Italian rolled through the door about 11.30pm.

But I have now organised so the post will come up later today while I'm at work.

It's a bit sunny today although it's super windy, and I was looking at this photo remembering sitting on the balcony last week enjoying really hot weather.

It feels so long ago, but hopefully it'll get better for next week.

Party for a good cause

One of my favourite Swedish London blogs belongs to this gorgeous girl, and the other day she posted about a party in London next week in aid of Leukemia.
As you know by now I love everything that is for a good cause, and when shopping I try to buy things that also supports a cause of some sort etc.
So I really wanted to be a part of this somehow. Looking at how I'm working next week I'm not 100% sure I am going to be able to attend myself, but I asked for permission to post this on my blog as well.
So here it goes.

The guy who started the charity lost his sister to Leukemia and he is now trying to raise money for a new machine that can find the cancer in your blood a lot earlier than the machines they have at NHS.

The party is at Cafe de Paris, and although I normally can't stand that club I think that on a night like this you won't get the usual meat market with guys trying to dry hump your leg.
Prices are £30 for a normal ticket and £100 for VIP (where you get a table as well).

I woke up feeling a lot better than yesterday, which is a bit odd since it was raining NON STOP last night when we were at taste (more about that tonight).
But I'm not complaining I am happy not to have a sore throat anymore. The Italian is off today, but he is going out tonight so I think that after I've been running home I will stay on the sofa with lots of cups of tea and a blanket just t make sure that I don't get sick after last night.
I went straight into the shower when I got home and stayed in there for about and hour but I still didn't get warm. It feel like November, not June.
Hopefully it will turn around again soon though, we had such a great start to the summer a couple of weeks ago.
I just got to work now, but there'll be a post coming up later about partying for a good cause.

I woke up wondering who'd placed a knife inside my throat during the night.
Not what you need to add on to your 4am alarm.
Because we're going to the Taste Festival today I didn't want to bring my bike with me. I couldn't think of any public transport that would get me to work on time and taxi was out of the question. So I had a brilliant idea of walking. But as I got to Liverpool street I saw the barckay bikes and thought that I could've slept for another half an hour if I'd thought of that earlier. Never mind. I got on one and now I'm at work. Believe it or not but the sun is actually shining this morning. I hope it stays like that for tonight. I don't fancy walking around regents park in the rain.

Last Tuesday the Italian and I decided to go for something to eat since when I finished work at 4pm. Since I hadn't eaten since 9.30 and he'd just been to the gym we were pretty hungry. I fancied Dean Street Town House because I hadn't been for ages and he's never been before. I got a bit excited about the sun being out for two minutes so I wanted to sit outside. This meant that we crammed into a tiny space where someone, I'm not sure who, had decided that there was enough space to fit another table. We squeezed in and I then got even more excited about trying to be good so I ordered a goat cheese salad. I think it was about as many calories on there as I burnt cycling home, which resulted in me being absolutely starving when I got home. I have to say one thing about it though and that is that they have got great toilets in there. Last time I went I really enjoyed it so I'm sure they were just having an off day. But we had to ask for the water to be refilled twice and the bread never arrived even though they said it was on it's way.

So I hope Niall doesn't want to go there tonight.

I'm sure I'll go back again at some point, but I don't see any reason to rush back so soon though.

It's been raining non stop since I woke up today.

I lit lots of candles put on Adele and looked at the gorgeous flowers and plants I bought yesterday.

It's been so lovely.

Mr Sunshine has shown his face now so I am jumping on my bike heading for Marylebone and lovely Cat.

Even though it's wet it's still really warm. Really tough to get dressed for this weather.

I decided to go for summer clothes and have the waterproofs within reach.

I think that'll be the best choice.

Flats for the afternoon and then heals for the evening with Niall.

Tinchy Stryder & Dappy - Spaceship

When we met up with Ben and Vanessa on Sunday night we were, off course, talking about his career for a bit.
And it turns out that the song that he played for us when we stayed over a few months ago has now been released and it is being played all the time. Both on the radio and on TV.
On Sunday they started the count down for the iTunes chart next Sunday. They are currently number five, which is amazing, but we want to get them to number one!
So please download this song for 99p on iTunes. I did it there and then in the restaurant and the Italian did it as soon as we got home.
It is actually really good and a very catchy song. I know I am not very partial in this, but considering that I am not too keen on N-Dubz (which is where Dappy is from) I was very pleasantly surprised by this song.

I'm finally on the last episode of the shallow show. Or the slutty show which is what the Italian calls it, since he can't understand what they're saying, all he can see is girls getting drunk and partying all the time.
I really fancy going to Sweden now and speak Swedish and hang out Swedish style.
The plan is to meet up with Cat tomorrow so at least I get to speak Swedish then:)
And then in the evening I am finally meeting up with Niall who I haven't seen for about three months.
I am looking forward to Friday night as well when the Italian and I are going to taste of London in Regents Park.

Afternoon

Back home again after a lovely afternoon with Lucy.
We went to Cafe Oto in Dalston.
It's such a cool place. It's basically nothing. Just a warehouse style room with concrete floors and walls, but the people that go there are really cool and the people that work there as well.
I am back on the sofa in front of the shallow show. But I can feel some really bad period pains coming on so I'm considering going for another PW to ease the pain.
