Last Sweden post

On Tuesday morning my parents took us to the airport in Gothenburg and on the way there we stopped in Varberg, a town that's pretty much half way there.
We went to the Fortress
It was so windy, I thought we might fly all the way to London on our own
Dad enjoying the calmness of the sea
The Italian wondered if we could fit one of these in our flat.
A beautiful end to a lovely weekend. I can't wait to go back. I hope it will be soon.

Sea view dinner

After receiving all my thousands of present we all went to Salt - a stunning restaurant in Tylösand by the sea.
It was so nice of them to acknowledge my birthday in Tylösand
Gorgeous view by the entrance
Busy restaurant even though we were there early at 6pm.
Gorgeous sea view all the way around
Fish soup with garlic bread and aioli as main course
DESSERT! The best I've had for a long time. In Sweden we have a chocolate called Plopp (I know funny name) and it is milk chocolate filled with caramel. This was a plopp brownie with fudge sauce and banana Ice Cream. Two big pieces of Plopp baked into the brownie. Yum!
I just could not stop going on about it
Even better view at the back of the restaurant.
Gorgeous food, brilliant location.
A restaurant I definitely recommend if you come to Halmstad in the summer.

Evening birthday celebration at my sisters house

The flag is up for me at my parents house:) In Sweden we usually put the flag up if it's someones birthday.
Expectant girl waiting for presents
Snacks and bubbly, Yum!
I was, once again totally spoiled, before heading off for a gorgeous dinner by the sea.
More about that later.

Sweden cont. - lunch with Mum and Dad

After our day in Gothenburg we stayed over at my sisters house.
The next day we went to Mum and Dad to spend some time with them before heading out to my friends house for a crayfish-party/barbecue.
The Italian joined in time for dessert (cheesecake) after he'd finished in my parents gym downstairs.

Monday

Sorry for bad posts but I am too busy enjoying myself here in beautiful Sweden. It makes me so happy being here. It's calm and clean and gorgeous. We had a crayfish party last night with all my beautiful friends. And today we went to Båstad and sat in a gorgeous cafe by the sea. I'm loving every minute of it and tonight we're off out for dinner by the sea again.

Saturday

Yesterday was probably the calmest day since I arrived here. Apart from Monday when I was in Stockholm all day it was the only time that I stayed in the same town all day.
We started off with going into town fora bit and the Italian did some shopping.
Afterwards we went to my grans house and had some coffee.
It was a gorgeous sunny day so we decided to head to the football and HBK's first match of the season.
And then back here to my parents house for dinner.
I sat down talking to my niece and didn't realise that she had already moved on to something else.
A lovely day.

Yesterday

Yesterday morning I got the train from Malmö to Copenhagens airport to pick up a gorgeous tall dark Italian man:) I was just about to say that it is so great to have him here with me, but I then realised that I have been up for nearly three hours now and he is still asleep (hence all the blog posts I am throwing out there like there's no tomorrow)
All jokes aside it was lovely to see him, we got on the bus and a few years later we arrived in Halmstad.
Off we went to my sisters house and a beautiful little girl that was very excited to see the Italian ( it was after all nearly two years ago since he saw my niece)
Even though they can't communicate - yet, they quickly became friends and he was thrown into building towers and helping all the animals getting to the farm etc.
In the evening we went out for dinner with my parents.
They haven't seen him since they came to London last May so they were also happy that he finally arrived.
I am now going to see if it is possible to wake him up so we can start this rainy Halmstad day.

Baby cuddles and Pizza

Moving on to Thursday and my dad hada day off, so Thursday became father - daughter day.
We went for a walk by the sea, I would like to say that it was beautiful but it was rainy and windy.
It felt like we got anough fresh air for the rest of the year now.
Afterwards we deserved a mid morning snack so we went to a new cafe and had some tea.
In the afternoon I jumped on the bus and went down to Malmö. I got to meet the new addition to our gang - Freja.
Vide was happy as he was with his new best friend.
She is so tiny and beautiful
We ordered Pizza and hada lovely time.
Freja's mum and dad didn't seem to get attached to any photos but they were there as well.

A Wednesday in Sweden

My mum is always off on Wednsedays so whenever I happen to be in Sweden mid week we usually have a mother-daughter day.
This time was no different, we decided to go to Helsingborg (about an hours drive south from Halmstad).
On the way we passed Ikea and I realised that I need a few things from there that could fit in my suitcase.
In we went and I found everything I wanted. I've said before that I want to re decorate the flat. At least now I'll hopefully get a little bit of fresh air into it.
The compulsory stop at the Cafe
After a couple of hours in and out of the shops in Helsingborg we stopped at my favourite place "Ebbas Fik", it's really retro and it's got a Jukebox in the corner with really cool music. And the food portions are massive!
We both had jacket potato with prawns. We wanted something sweet afterwards, hard to resist when they have everything you can think of on display.
I really wanted one of their amazing chocolate cakes, but I had to settle for a carrot cake, otherwise I think my body would have screamed. It was all a bit much. Nex time I'll probably skip the potato and go straight for the cakes.
When we got back to Halmstad I dropped off my mum at home and then I went on to go and pick up my niece from nursery. It was such a gorgeous day and I was a bit early so I sat down and enjoyed the sunshine for a few minutes first.
We had a lovely afternoon and when my sister came home we had some dinner and then some sister time as well after my niece went to sleep.
