Wii Fat

When the italian and I first moved into this flat I didn't connect my wii fit straight away. I finally got it all up and running again last week, and the first thing she does is shout at me (she always does, my wii fit - she is very strict....), and she told me that it had been 268 days since she had last seen me blah, blah, blah.

Anyway when she is done insulting me, or so I thought, she asks me to do the body test thingy, she was very kind to me about my fitness age, it was only one year older than I am, which is very good.

When that was done she tells me that I have put on....  10 lbs (5kg)........ since she last saw me. O-kay... However, this is the day after I've come back from Italy, which is why I obviously realise that this isn't my normal weight and I will lose it in a few weeks or something like that, so I am not stressing too much about it and get over it quite quickly after I have finished and switched off. And that was the end of that I thought, but no.

The next time I log on to my Mii account that she has so kindly created for me she has completely changed the look of me and added 10lbs to my image, she has given her a belly and a rounder face etc....

I mean surely that's just rude.... Anyway I have got to stop typing now and go and do some yoga or something to keep her happy....

Present

There was a goody bag of seeds waiting for me at work the other day:)
A great compliment to my healthy diet.

I did off course get a question from my colleague whether in fact I might be a bird...:)

The Italian has made me some lovely salads the last few days with some of these in.

Saturday night

Here are some pictures from V's b-day dinner, I apologise about the quality of the pictures, but since it was a special occasion I was allowed to have a drink, so I was perhaps a touch merry on Prosecco at the end...:)

gorgeous V;)

Nothing

Nothing got to come home with me yesterday;( Except a goat cheese salad that was in my tummy after lunch at cafe boheme in Soho.
Other than that the underwear sample sale was too messy with too many women just throwing things aroud so I couldn't concentrate.
Anthropologie was beautiful, but I found it hard to convince myself to buy a little singlet top for £98. Especially this month, maybe I'll go back after pay day and get some stuff.

At least going to west London gave me a chance to catch up with L which was lovely:)

And then lunch with N who I haven't seen in almost a month and M who is about ready to drop and look absolutely fantastic:)

Today the Italian and I went to Borough Market and looked around for a bit and had some nice lunch.

And now we are about to get ready and jump into our party frocks and head off to V's b-day party:)

I hope you are having a nice Friday. xx

Bundle of joy:)

A beautiful little baby girl was born into the world yesterday:) And we are very excited about it in my circle of friends:) A big congratulations to the lovely parents, I can't wait to meet the little star....

Day off tomorrow:)

The Italian has got an appointment tomorrow, but I have a fun-filled, girly day ahead of me.

Firstly, I was planning to make a stop at the sample sale for this, on my way to King's Road, for the opening of a new Anthropologie shop, which, as I am sure you have relised, is my favourite shop right now. Hopefully when I am there I will have a coffee date with my sweet friend L, that I haven't seen in ages, since she is just around the corner from there.

After that I am hopping back on the bike and heading in to town to meet my lovelies M and N for some late lunch or something like that.

Now this is all very exciting apart from the fact that I have just spent a week in italy, and a week in Sweden not long before that, and I am going here on Friday night for my friend V's birthday party.

And then next week my friends P and R are coming to visit, and we are going to Scott's for dinner and then on to Alto Club afterwards for my hairdresser S leaving party as she is sadly leaving London:(

So to sum up, budget is a bit tight this month, but hopefully I can find a nice bargain somewhere tomorrow that wants to come home with me:)

Fingers crossed. xx

TV

Last night the Italian and I watched this program on BBC iplayer. I really recommend watching it for the ones who know me. You will see why a bit into the program. It is 58 minutes long and will be available on the website until next Tuesday the 23rd March. Obviously, you don't have to watch the whole program if you don't have enough time, but you will understand which part I want you to watch when you see it:)

And considering what the Italian does the whole program was interesting for us.

UPDATE: Apparently it can't be viewed outside the UK. What a shame:(

yum yum

Having my own private chef at home obviously has it's advantages:)

I thought I would feel like a little bunny all week chewing on green leaves and drink water and that was it. But my amazing italian put a stop to that. He has the ability to turn the most boring rabbit food into the most gorgeous fine dining experience. He called me when I finished to ask me if I wanted any dinner for when I came home. I said yes, but only if it's healthy, at the same time I would like it to be filling and yummy. Yeah right, I thought to myself. As if such a thing even exists.

I came home and my nose liked the smell..... And my mouth and my tummy liked it even more. He'd made me a lovely salad with asparagus, avocado, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and feta cheese with a really lovely dressing. And to that we had some quinoa with spinach. Yummy.... I ate so fast and enjoyed it so much that I forgot to take a photo of it to show you... Next time:)

When we got back

The holiday blues was put on hold for a day, by the fact that my sweet, sweet C was here waiting for us. They arrived on Thursday and left this afternoon while I was at work. I miss her already.
yesterday morning at Yumchaa in Camden:)

But tonight the holiday blues kicked in big time:( I just want to jump on a plane and go away on holiday again.

However, I know that in a few days I will be back in the swing of things again...

What I have to deal with

My new life started today, no more chocolate, no more sweets, lots of water, vegtables and fruit, no alcohol unless it's a special occasion....

But... this is what we brought back from Italy....

It took me about five minutes to get into my trousers today so this new health regime is really needed;)

This morning, I found out that the 10k run isn't until 11th July (which also happens to be my birthday...) so that is a long long time of no chocolate etc....

But I am probably not going to give it up completely - I don't think I would be able to.. so after a month or so I might start to eat a little bit again, but I am going to (try to) limit it to one day a week.

While in Italy...

I fixed this ring
that the Italian bought for me last time we were in Italy, but unfortunately it broke while in London. Now it looks like new again though:)

I read
these books. Svart Notis is a very interesting book about people who lives and works in Sweden without legal papers. A real eye opener. Helene Tursten was fantastic as always:) Jane Moore - Perfect Match was very sad and had me in tears at times, but then it also had that chic-lit feeling that made me laugh out loud and made me feel good when I finished it. Sarahs Nyckel is a brilliant book about Paris in 1942 when the jewish people were deported by French police. I have only a few chapters left and again I am in tears on every other page. It is a really, really good book and I recommend it. It is a french author so it is available in most languages.

I told you that it was a relaxing holiday so lots of time for reading, which I love:)

Italy

Not many photos but here are a few from our week.

a nice coffee break with his cousins:)

No cable

I've forgotten to ask about the camera cable every time we have been in P's house. But never mind, I haven't taken too many photos anyway, because it has been raining quite badly and we have mainly rested, and rested. But tonight is party night so I might have some photos to present when I come back after all.

Anyway, that's not the reason I am writing today.

Just before I left London a girl at work asked me if I like to go running and if I want to run the 10k run that some people at work are doing in June.

I though to myself, that would be nice, since I do go for a run about 3-4 times a week.

So while I have been here, eating like a pig (lovely food off course, but oh so much.....) I have decided that I am more than excited about this idea. I will start training properly when I get back. I know I don't have to train too much for just 10k but I have now decided to put my heart into this.

So healthy food and lots of running is on the scheduele for when we come back.

At first I thought I would put my current weight etc on here, and then every week update it to put some pressure on me, but I think just writing about it has made me commit to it in a different way than if I just though about it to myself...

So whether it will actually happen, that we will run this 10k thing or not, at least I will feel a bit healthier and better about myself.

I hope my excitement lasts. I ususally get really excited about things but a week or two later I am already bored of the idea.... Watch this space...:)

Sunny day today, the Italian just came back from running around, doing some things and we are now going out to enjoy the sun. xx

Italy

We are having a really nice and relaxing time with amazing food and such lovely, lovely people.

Yesterday when we arrived, we went around and said hello to the whole family.

The first aunt we saw told me that I look a lot healthier now than what I did in the summer (translation - fatter) oh ok hmmm thanks?

Then we went to see gran who said that I look like I've lost weight since I was here in the summer.... O-kay hmmm

And then we went to see another aunt who told me that I always look the same.... once again thanks?

So welcome to confused.com. haha.

I stupidly left my camera cable at home, but I hope that maybe I can borrow one that fits my camera off his best friend and then I can upload some photos and blog a bit while I am here.

Otherwise, see you next week. xxx

I'm ready for our holiday

Well I'm not actually literally ready, because I haven't even started packing, and I should really go to bed, but am instead about to start watching a film.

But my body and soul is sooooooooo ready for a relaxing week away from London and work.

I went through some pictures from our last time in Italy in August and I can't wait to go back.

It was such a relaxing holiday.
I obviously realise that it won't be very sunny at this time of year so the tan won't be the same.

But as long as I am half as chilled out after this holiday I''m happy.

Wednesday 3 March 2010

Mental note to self....

Never watch a film with the Italian again that he has already seen. The other day we watched this film that lovefilm sent. He had already seen it the day before when I went to bafta with L.

Every five minutes he goes - "You can't believe what's about to happen now", "Oh my god - you have to see what he is about to say now", "Watch this, watch this, this is good.."
HELLO! What do you think I am doing here...?

And then last night when I got home from work, his brother was here and the two of them were watching Carlito's Way and I said - oh I want to see this film, but it's only 20 minutes left of it now so I'll watch it another time.
And then when the film finished he was talking to his brother about everything that happens in the end, scene by scene...
Haha it's a good job I love him;)

Tuesday 2 March 2010

Gorgeous Sunny Day:)

That started with a run along the canal down to Lime House where the canal meets the Thames and it's just so gorgous down there.

I went home, had a shower and a nice breakfast, got on my bike, and cycled along the canal the other way, to Angel.

I continued to Holloway where I had an appointment at 10am to have my eye lashes tinted AND permed. I have never done the perm before, just the colour. Since my eye lashes are extremly straight it feels a bit weird now when they are curling up by themselves. But I think the result was great, and it is nice when we go to Italy next week, that if it's sunny I don't need to wear any make up at all.

sorry about the poor quality but it was hard to take this photo myself, and the camera on the iphone isn't great....

The treatment ran over so I missed my hairdressers appointment, but lovely S was kind enough to fit me in an hour later. So all of a sudden I had an hour to kill in the sunshine. And I spent it by having lunch outside, wearing only a t-shirt:)

Absolutely lovely. Then I finished my morning by having my hair done before cycling to work

I look extremly grumpy;) But I am really not. I had a great start to the day.
I hope you did too;) xx

Monday 1 March 2010

6am start

I am a little bit tired this morning after my alarm going off at 4.30am so I could be at work at 6am.

It was all made a bit easier by the fact that the Italian got up with me (!), and made me breakfast while I was getting ready. He also made sure that I took my vitamins and had my daily actimel;)
