On Repeat

This song has been on repeat all day. I love it. I'd heard it before, but never really listened to the lyrics but then when we were in Miami this cool chic...
rocked it at Clevelander which was where we spent most of our time since they had the coolest gigs there.
Needless to say I started to obsess and downloaded it as soon as we got home and now it's on non-stop.
I always thought they said "I got you", I thought it was a very catchy tune but it wasn't until I realised what they said until the love grew.

Missing

With constant rain in London today I can't help but thinking of this view that I had a few days ago.
The alarm goes off at 5am so I should really go to bed.
The evening disappeared and I don't really know what happened to it. I spoke to my sister for 45 minutes and my parents for 1 hour and 20 minutes and told them all about our holiday. And then I called lovely Pernilla who is 30 today! Happy Birthday. I wish I was in Sweden so I could celebrate her properly.
The flat felt really quiet and empty after I'd spoken to all my loved ones but no one was here to touch and hug so I listened to Tove Styrke for a bit that I haven't listened to before.
I am now going to call lovely Gen who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow but because she lives in Australia it is already tomorrow there.
And then I am finally going to hang the clothes that have been washed since we came back and maybe the flat can go from looking like a Chinese laundry shop with clothes drying everywhere to my usual cosy little hang out place where everything is where it should be - the wardrobe. The beautiful flowers that M gave to me when I met her for coffee the other day is hardly even visible in this mess.
And then tomorrow night I am going to celebrate with candles all night and get back the cosy factor in my life.

Friday Night

... and my mind is wondering back to Miami. I am dreaming of Mango Daiquiris which is pretty much what I lived on while we were there.
I can practically taste it when I am watching this picture.
Have a nice weekend lovelies:)

Friday

Three days in and it almost feels like we've never been away:) when it comes to jet lag I haven't suffered at all. I've been very tired today however but I think that needs to be blamed on criminal minds rather than different time zones. We watched four episodes just before bed when we got back on tuesday night. And then Wednesday night I stayed up until the Italian came home. Officially because I'd missed him so much during the day. In officially because he had two massive chocolate bars from Sweden in his bag;) my sister sent some chocolate with the birthday present she sent for him while we were away and he'd been to the post office to pick it up before work. I still have some freckles on my nose but I do feel that my colour is fading fast - too fast...

Home sweet home

We have arrived back home after yet another shaky flight. We landed at 10am and thought we'd beat the traffic by jumping on the tube. Hah! To us when there was a problem on the line and we didn't get home until just before 1pm. So the body balance class that I was planning to go to at 1 had to be missed. We've had a fantastic time in Miami. I was surprised how expensive everything was though and now when I am back in London I feel fat and poor;) the Italian went off to the gym and I was supposed to go for a run but I decided to make myself a cup of tea and have some oat biscuits instead. I might go for a run later or wait until tomorrow and just unwind at home for a bit today. I want to go to Sainsbury's and stock up the fridge and cupboards a bit and I also need to buy some new flowers for the window as you can see. Hopefully that'll take away the holiday blues a bit... It is nice to be back in a way though I have to say.

Miami shopping so far

We haven't bought too much. We (read I) wanted to go to Sawgrass Mills I think it's called it's an outlet centre just outside Miami but we never made it there. And today is sunny so we want to make up for the last two sunless days. Beach all the way. I did however find a dress. Two pairs of shoes some make up and some under wear. I have to say though - Miami is quite expensive. Anyway. I am eased with my purchases so far. I can't believe we are leaving tomorrow. The time has just flown by. I think we are going to Nikki beach again tonight and then beach tomorrow until we have to leave about 6pm. See you back in London. X

Another cloudy day

So we went to the gym. It's a great gym called crunch and they have this amazing step machine that I wish we had in the gym back in London. Its literally like walking up the stairs. I walked 70 floors in 15 minutes:) and I was on the cross-trainer for half an hour while watching the Arsenal match on TV. They won 2-0 so a good workout hour indeed:) time for a shower and some shopping I think.

Cloudy

It's a bit cloudy today and rumours about a thunder storm. So we're planning to do something other than beach hang. Either shopping or Everglade. I hope you're all having a great Friday.

To Key West and back

A long day with a four hour drive each way. It's only 9.30pm here now though so we're going to have a shower and then go for dinner and cocktails.

Tuesday 8 February 2011

It is this books fault...

...that I burned my back side on the first day in the sun. The second day here, we had to have a rest day and didn't go to the beach all day. Instead we did some shopping and we went to another resort and listened to some business proposal about maybe investing in some holiday thing. And then we went down to the waterside and played around with a Jetski for half an hour:) lots of fun!! Today was the second day on the beach and I have now obviously burned my front because I wanted to make up for last time when I only sunbathed the back. I am wearing lots of sun protection but it might be good to turn over every once in a while... I'm going to try that tomorrow. I finished the book as well and it was worth the burn. A very good book indeed!

At the airport

Ready to go. I am sorry that only small pictures appear when I blog via my phone. I've tried to fix it before I left but I don't understand how. I'll make them bigger when I get to a computer but until then this is all I've got. We're a bit sleepy since the taxi picked us up at 6am. Especially the Italian who didn't get to bed until just after 2... A few coffees later and we should be able to get through this. Tjohoo! Sunshine here we come:)

Body pain

                                                                                                    pic
I was surprised at how flexible my body was this morning considering how much I made it suffer in the gym last night. 45 minutes Body Conditioning and then 45 minutes Step Aerobics. Both of them with new routines, which was noticable.
But now, half way through the day the pain is creeping up on me and every time I speak my stomach is in agony, getting up and down from the chair is a struggle.
I do love this kind of pain, but I am a bit worried about feeling twice as bad tomorrow and then being stuck on a 20cm seat with a body that feels like it is on fire.
I am making a mental note about double stretching tonight after spinning and I will change the damage that has already been done.

Long Haul Flights

                                                                                                                  pic

I am the worst person ever on Long Haul Flights.
Once I am sat in that seat, I am sat.
When I flew to Australia I think I got up once to go to the bathroom.
Other than that I was well into my films and had a bit of a snooze and did everything else sitting/lying.
The flight tomorrow is only nine hours, but I am still going to try and get myself out of the seat at some point to stretch my legs.
I've tried to look online to see what films are on, but I am a bit confused.
We booked on British Airways website and the emails I get comes from BA, but apparently we are flying American Airlines (??)
So I don't know whose films we will be watching. I am hoping for AA because they have films on there that are still in the cinema;)
Whereas BA have films that haven't quite come out on DVD yet but they are not still in the cinema.
I'm sure I'll manage which ever, but I was just a bit annoyed that we never went to the cinema on Sunday like we had planned and now I seem to have a second chance tomorrow perhaps. Two of the three films I wanted to see is showing on AA;)

A mad busy day at work today.
Glad it's only a day and a half left until I check out for 11 days.

Sleepy

I am off to a salon here in Mayfair after work to get my eyelashes tinted before the holiday.
Is it really embarrassing if I fall asleep?
All the energy just went out of me now.
Hopefully some Zumba later will get the energy back in, but before then some snoozing at the beauty salon.

Last Night

Mmmmmmm....
The food was, as always, absolutely brilliant at Tempo
We started by sharing some Arancini with wild mushrooms and mozzarella, bruschetta with prawns, cavalo nero and garlic and also fried whitebait and Calamari.
Before this arrived we got the lovely scallops sent up (my favourite dish I think). They are just to die for. So perfectly amazing.
Before our main courses we received a gorgeous risotto to get the appetite going.
And it worked, when my fish stew arrived I was really geared up for it.
And L's wild sea bass looked mouth watering and beautiful.
I said to the Italian the day before that I wouldn't have dessert.
The manager came up to me and asked if that was still the case.
Who am I to say no when they are twisting my arm like that?
So 15 minutes later the loveliest lemon tart and pear and almond tart arrived.
The lemon has got like a creme brulee crust on the top.
The pear and almond was really soft and moist and gorgeous. I have never tried that before. I don't like things that taste too nutty, but this one was as everything else, flawless.
We started with champagne in the bar, prosecco with the starters and a bottle of Greco di Tufo for main course and dessert.
I'll say it again, if you live in London or visiting London you have to go!

Needless to say it felt a little bit tough to get up for my swim this morning.
But as with everything else I felt a lot better afterwards.

Louis Vuitton

I am not a huge Louis Vuitton fan. I don't like when the logo is so visible all over the bag/scarf/shoes, but I have to say that their window displays on Bond Street are always beautiful.
I think the one they've got at the moment is my all time favourite.
Not the greatest pictures because I was running late for work as always...
It's a funfair with roller coasters and Ferris wheels, with shoes and handbags riding along them.
If you are in the area go and have a look. Any excuse to take a walk on Bond Street:)
