I love my job sometimes part III

Just when I thought I'd be able to be good, I found two boxes filled with chocolate in the office kitchen...

Second and last day

We woke up quite late and started with some breakfast and some chill time on the balcony
And then we went for a walk in the area
The city farm around the corner from my house had some new additions
We went down to the Thames and looked at the boats
And then on to the park, unfortunately the weather wasn't at it's best, being a bit grey and cloudy, but it was definitely the best weather for walking around in since it was nice and cool
We went home and grabbed our helmets and then we cycled to Spitalfields market to grab some lunch
My favourite Leon was the choice of the day
And then after an hour or so of walking around looking at things on the market we decided that it was time for a tea break:)
We went back home and got ready for the evening and then jumped back on the bikes and cycled into town for some last minute shopping and gorgeous dinner, but more about that later
I obviously had to take her to may favourite shop - Anthropology

First Day

I am pretty sure that my sister was the only one that got picked up by bike from the bus at Liverpool Street:)
When we got home the Italian was still up so we stayed up and chatted for a bit, we got some lovely presents from my sister (including the sport top I am wearing) and I thought it was a great opportunity to paint my nails
The next morning we went out to find a Boris-bike for my sister to use.
They are so great and I really recommend them to anyone who lives in London and doesn't have a bike of their own
The cycle ride got us to Selfridges where we spotted lots of Christmas decorations already
And some Halloween thrown in there as well...
I just love the food hall there, it reminds me of Salu Hallen in gothenburg
And then when it was time for tea, Yumchaa was an obvious choice for me, which is where I was having these delicious scones
And then we went to the cinema because like I thought she was more than happy to come and see the film I wanted to see, it was very good and really funny
And then I am trying to find out where we can find the nearest Boris bike.
That night we just made some dinner at home and sat up talking until our eyes couldn't stay open any longer...

Last Day.

My sister is getting ready to leave.... Her bags are packed and we are trying to put off going to bed for as long as possible.
The alarm goes off and 3.30am tomorrow and then off to the airport for my sister.
And after our goodbyes I'll go straight to work for a 7am start....
So while my sister is finishing the last things before her departure I am soothing my pain with some Swedish chocolate (yes it's allowed because it kind of counts like a holiday when people visit....)
We have had such amazing last two days.
I will tell you more about it when I have more time. Maybe tomorrow night.
I can tell you that at the moment we have our tummy's full of delicious food from the Italian's restaurant:)
Mmmmm that man can cook;)

The end of a long week

Phew, It's been a long, hard week.
Sorry for the non existing updates....
But now, nine days later it was all worth it.
My sister arrived safely late last night and we've spent all day today just loving every second together.
More about that later, I am now off to bed so I'll have some energy for our last day together tomorrow.
Time flies when you have fun:)
We've had time for some tea drinking at lovely Yumchaa today though so we're very pleased.
Night, night. Sweet dreams.

Friday

A lazy morning, followed by a busy night at work.
Just before I rushed off to work today I spoke to my gorgeous friend T on the phone about her new born baby son V.
We were making plans about when I come over to visit in a week and a half and I can't wait to see the little one.
One thing that is occupying my mind every second of the day first of all however is the fact that my sister is coming on Thursday. I know I go on about it a lot, but I really, really can't wait.
I can't wait to show her around where I live and just hang out with her, go to cafes, go to restaurants, go to the cinema, just do all those things we used to do when I still lived back home.
Who knows, maybe one day, The Italian and I will move to Sweden and my sister and I will do all these things on a weekly (or daily) basis again. But until then we have to live for the short, but sweet moments we get together when either of us visits.
And I am well and truly geared up and ready for this visit to begin.
Night, night.
Sweet dreams.

Remember Me

                                                                                            pic
Oh, ok...... I am not going to give too much away for those of you that hasn't seen it, and those of you that have will know whether I got a surprising end or not.
I have to be honest though I was doing a million other things while the film was on in the background so I am not the best person to judge it. I would recommend it though. I thought they had a really sweet love story;)

Outside my window

There's the most beautiful tree with gorgeous autumn colours;)
I do like this time of year, when it starts to get a little bit colder, and you can cuddle up inside with candles a good film and some chocolate.
At the moment I am watching Remember Me from Lovefilm, it is ok, not as good as I thought it would be, a bit slow at times.
But it is still going so the end might still surprise me.

I'm in heaven:) (or possibly hell, depending on how you look at it)

The Italian brought home a present for me last night.
They'd been given about five kg of chocolate at the restaurant from Green & Black's chocolate and he decided to bring some of it home to me.
A whole box full to the rim of gorgeous little mini bars of heaven....
He asked me to promise him that I wouldn't eat all of it in a couple of days like I normally do and he said that he expects some of it to still be here at Christmas time. Hah! Excuse me but have we met?
Well I mean I probably won't be able to eat it all at once, but Christmas, Hello... that's like months away.
And yes I know, just plain milk chocolate isn't the greatest, but anyone who has ever tried Green & Black's chocolate knows that it is not like any other chocolate on the planet. It's from somewhere else. Possibly heaven.
So clearly my only-on-weekends plan has been a bit interrupted this week - again.

The Devil Eats chocolate

                                                                           pic
I went to the shop for some essentials that we needed for the flat. And I told myself that if they had this specific chocolate that I'd heard about (a new thing) that I wanted to try, and ONLY THEN was I allowed to swap one of my weekend days for today.
What happens? They don't have that exact chocolate so there and then I changed my plans and decided to swap for today after all.
So now I am sitting here with a bag of good ol' munchies...
                                                                        pic
And watching Devil Wears Prada.

Probably a bit stupid to start watching a film now when I have to be up at 4.15am for a 6am start tomorrow, but I thought I deserved some down time with chocolate.

That's All....

Tuesday 19 October 2010

Ouch!

My body is feeling the Body Combat today and my back, legs, bum, arms and stomach are all in pain.
I love this kind of, pain but it just makes you that little bit slower.
I am going to jump in the shower now and hope that might help, so I feel flexible enough to go to Zumba tonight.
Have a lovely Tuesday:)

Come around Sundown

King's of Leon's new album came out today:)
King's of Leon's new album came out today:)
King's of Leon's new album came out today:)
And it is soooooo good!!
I have been counting down the days for about a month, but then because I have sat on the sofa and done nothing all day, I forgot all about it.
But then when I was at Body Combat and she played Sex On Fire I suddenly remembered.
So straight out of the gym and downloaded the album on my phone.
And now we've listened to it while making dinner and eating and I LOVE IT!

We've had the laziest two days ever. Lot's of sofa hang and watching DVDs.
We so needed that both of us, but unfortunately it's not very interesting reading for you so I apologise.
I've got another nine days to go now, and after that it should be a bit easier and social life should be back again. Hopefully....

Sunday baby Shower lunch

I've had a lovely day today that started with lunch in Bloomsbury with some friends from work.
What a lovely place, I've never really been to Bloomsbury before, but I could really live there.
Lovely area, it felt a bit like the east side of Marelybone and Primrose Hill.
Lunch took place in a cute little Italian restaurant called Ciao Bella.
Gorgeous Mama:)
I took some time out from socialising to pretend I was a paparazzi and took a photo of David Gray who was sitting at the next table
But then I remembered the reason we were there..., Can this baby be anything but gorgeous.
Can't wait to meet him/her.

I didn't feel very well when I got home, so we've just stayed on the sofa and watched some TV. We had some Ice Cream (sore throat) and some chocolate (just because).
X factor has been watched and now The Italian is watching one of his favourite films - Dead Man Running.
Off tomorrow again and I need to go into town and sort out some things and then Body Combat in the evening.
The next day off I have after that is when my sister is here.
I don't care that I have to work nine days in a row to get there. I can't wait to see her:)

Loveliness

Another baby has been born into my world.
To add to A's and C's gorgeous two girls, lovely T and her husband P had a lovely little boy the day before yesterday.
Can't wait to see him and I am looking at tickets to go to Sweden for just a day:)
Is that totally mad?!? They live in Malmo so it's only about 20 minutes to get there from Copenhagen airport. I think it could be done...
It will have to be in a few weeks though, which probably works better for the new parents as well.
Let's see what happens. Watch this space.

Bits of it

As I said, not much went on these last few days.
I went to cecconi's after work on Tuesday and had a late lunch with lovely S and L.
I had so much fun and we really need to get better at meeting up more often.
And then I went to the gym for my second session of Zumba.

Wednesday was spent at Cafe Boheme with N and B for a bite to eat and then we rolled next door to BKB and had another drink before heading home.
As usual some crappy photos taken with my phone
B couldn't just stick to a normal pint. It had to be a jug of beer....:)
My food looks totally un-appetising in this photo but it was actually a really nice, goat cheese, pear and something else salad.
I haven't even spoken to the Italian last week. When he gets home I am fast asleep and for some reason I can't even keep my eyes open for long enough to even say hello to him.
But we have the next two days off together so I am over the moon.
I am going for a girly lunch tomorrow though with a girl from work who worked her last day for a long time on Wednesday before going off to have a baby:)

I did it.

                                                                    pic

I've got eleven hard days behind me with work, work, work. That's the downside with working at a place that is in operation all day seven days a week. I had last Monday, Tuesday off and then I worked six days this week with a day off tomorrow, so that added up to eleven hard days. Most of them with at least ten working hours.

I am proud of myself that I managed it as well as I did.

So as you might understand I haven't had much to write about. I haven't even had a chance to put a thought in my head and keep it there for long enough so it could turn into some sort of sentence.

Anyway, here I am now and I am on the sofa relaxing and watching the x factor. About to paint my nails and just chill. A good job I am extremely tired tonight and can't be bothered to go across the road and buy a big bag of peanut M&Ms which is what I fancy.

Life as we know it

                                                                pic
I have seen the posters all over town for a few weeks, and my first thought was that I hope, hope, hope that this film it still on in three weeks when my sister comes - that's right MY SISTER IS COMING TO VISIT!!! and I am sooooo excited.
This is a typical film for us. I don't know how many millions of them that we have watched together.
And then after meeting the producer of the film on Friday night and he was going on about how funny and amazing the film was, I now feel that I can't wait to see it.
So fingers crossed that it will still be available in a good cinema to watch in a few weeks.
I have completely forgotten to ask my sister if she wants to see it though I just assumed that's the case:)

Thursday 7 October 2010

Mmmmmmm.....

No I'm not cheating... Well kind of not cheating.
I decided to swap Saturday with today.
That's allowed right? Or not?
Because I am working double on Saturday and then I won't be able to enjoy it .
I will just chuck some sweets down my throat without even tasting it properly.
(Trust me, I would still eat the sweets though, I know myself that well.)
So I thought it was nicer to swap it for tonight when I have the evening off and can enjoy the chocolate properly:)
So my weekend this week is today and Sunday.
