Sunday

It was so lovely to sit on the sofa and blog, so I thought I'd write another one...
We've had an extremly lazy day today. I woke up about 9.45am and got up and dressed warm and then I went for a quick run and bought some breakfast on my way home. I had a shower and made some hot drinks and got all the breakfast ready and then I woke the Italian who was excited to get something to eat.

After that he went back to bed and I gave myself a mini manicure and watched a swedish film that my parents sent me - Stenhuggaren, which is based on a book from Camilla Lackberg that I've read.

After that had finished I woke the Italian again and we went to Sainsbury's before they closed and bought the mackrell for dinner etc.
And then I went to PC world and got tricked into buying the modem I didn't need. Spoke to mum and dad on the phone and now I am waiting for dinner to get ready.
After dinner I think a film and some chocolate is in order.
Back to work for both of us tomorrow again....

WI-FI

Finally, after a year and a half with Sky Broadband, I have sorted out my wireless internet. I asked the italian to come with me to the shop because knowing me the sales people will force me to buy something that's twice as expensive as it needs to be....

Went to PC world (with my current modem) and said to them that i would like a router that works with this modem so I can have wireless internet, he looked at my modem and picked up another modem (exactly the same) for £99.99!! He took my modem with him and said - I am just going to double check with my colleague in tech if this is compatable.

He came back and said, yes this works perfectly. I said ok what about this one? (one for £74.99) he went away again and came back and said that's fine as well. I found another one for £49.99 and asked the same thing and he said yes that one is also ok... I said  -ok so far i have gone from £100 to £50!! He just laughed and said yes it seems like it... O-kay.....

Any other ones that are cheaper that I can use? No this is the cheapest one. Ok I'll have this one then. We walk to the check out and I see the exact same one I've got in my hand on sale for £39.99 so I bring both of them with me and the guy at the counter says that yes you can have that one for £39.99 as well. So that's the one I bought. I came home to plug it all in and when I went to look for my password with all the other Sky things I realise that the modem I've got is already a wireless modem!

So I called Sky and spoke to the sweetest girl, who probably thought I was a bit insane because I got sooooooo excited when it all worked after just two seconds of trying. And now I am all up and running and I am sitting on the sofa while the Italian is making dinner for us - mackrell with mashed potatoes and salad:)

So tomorrow I am going to go back to PC World and get my £39.99 back. I thought I was doing so well, for the first time I managed on my own to get the price down from £100 - £40...( I know I needed the Italian with me for support, but still, I did all the talking on my own), and then it turns out that they tricked me anyway since they looked at my modem and probably realised the whole time that I didn't need to buy one at all...

The Italian's birthday

is coming up next week. We have just booked in here for the night leading to his birthday. There are worse places to wake up on your big day....;)

Vision vs. Reality

Vision: Me, cycling along the canal in the sunshine, with gorgeous theme music in my ears, flowers in the basket, meeting smiling people on a nice walk with their dogs or babies, making me feel like I have the lead role in a nice feel-good film.
Reality: Me, cycling along the canal in the pouring rain, meeting grumpy stressed people on their way to work, no flowers involved, all the puddles I cycled through ruined my suede shoes, and I am now sitting at the hair dressers and I can't feel my toes (trying to dry my shoes with a hairdryer). The only thing that matched the vision was all the good music in my ears, having my iPhone on shuffle.

Quiet night in

Just catching up on some tv series that sky recorded for me, even though I hadn't realised that they had started again after Christmas. Love it:)

I finally have a day off tomorrow, but no lie in unfortunately, I am going to get up when my man goes to work at 6.30am ,and go for a run before getting ready for my day that is involving lots of beautiful, gorgeous people which makes me happy.

First I am going to cycle along regent's canal all the way to the Swedish Embassy to pick up my new drivers licence that has been delivered there (actually, I don't know what anyone looks like there, but I am sure there will be someone beautiful) Then I am going to see my mega gorgeous friend Cat and her super cute son, quickly, before cycling back to the canal and back up to North London to go and see my beautiful hairdresser S.

After that I am meeting my lovely, gorgeous friend M, who is 7 months pregnant, for lunch in Camden.

And then I am going to cycle home, by the canal again, to have some me time with a nice dvd or something I think. Back to work again on Saturday, which means that I am now off on Sunday with the Italian:)

I am very happy about that, because I really miss him. I got used to having him here when he was off for three days in a row...

Now it's time for bed. Good Night.

Good morning.

It's my ninth day in a row at work and my second day of you-know-what so I am everything but cheery this morning.
But at least this start to the day made it a little bit better a cup of hot chocolate and a bit
of a read in my book. This book is all about Hollywood glamour rather than blood and murder and that's what I need to read about this morning, something light and fun.

Something wrong...

I had a three course dinner before the match, a massive disgustingly calorie filled (yummy) chocolate cake in half time and now when I got home I want hot chocolate and toast.... There's just no stopping me... Nearly got ran over on my way home when I cycled down King's Road and window shopped in every window I passed.
But I managed to get home safely and now I am going to watch Desperate Housewives on Ch4+1, yes that's right we are finally going to find out who Mike married. We are a bit behind here in GB....

Football

I was going to show you the top from Anthropologie in a different light so you could see the real colour, but it didn't turn out very well. And you can't really see the nice neck line either.... ah well, another time.
I am wearing it with my favourite jeans, that I got for christmas, and a black vest top underneath to make it a bit longer, also a christmas present, both from Vila. The beautiful bracelets were also a present from C and it goes perfectly with the ring she gave me (that I am also wearing) the necklace is one of the two I bought in Camden.
I am sure you have realised by now that I am a bit of a fan of knee high socks and these ones are from H&M, and the purple in them is exactly the same colour as the top, and the boots are just normal plain, black boots from Office I think.
I am also wearing a massive long cardigan today because I am finally off to the football for the first time this season. Every time a match has been on that I was supposed to go to, I had other plans or were working. But not today... So very excited, but it is going to be cold....

Please enlighten me

OK so I have one more moan about the cinema last night. We arrived just before the film started, but we had time to buy a bag on munchies (love them) and take our coats off and sit down before the light got turned down and the adverts started.

10 minutes later a guy arrives, that is obviously sitting next to us - usual luck. He has bought so many sweets, drinks, popcorn that the poor usher, showing him to his seat, has to carry one of his drinks for him. So he squeezes past us to get to his seat. Yes I know, the actual film hasn't started but it was still annoying, the adverts were on and he was really interrupting my munchies eating...

Ok, so he settles down after standing there for maybe two minutes taking his coat off trying to put his girlfriends/dates sweets on her seat (the seat folded back up - he had to move them) and then tried to put her drink on her seat (the seat folded back up - he had to move them).... Anyway, you get the picture. During this whole time the poor usher is still standing in front of him, waiting for him to organise himself, so she can give him his drink back and go back to doing what she is supposed to do. After what feels like a year and a half, he finally sits down...

...only to get back up two minutes later and squeeze past us again to go and get his girlfriend/date. A few minutes later they arrive back again to squeeze past us to finally sit down and stay there - or so we think. Half way through the film guess who needs to go to the toilet? Yep that's right, so he sqweezes past us again and then a few minutes later once again when he comes back.

Am I the only one that felt like I just wanted to trip him over the 75th time he came passed? He wasn't a small guy either so squeeze is the key word in this story...

What a steal!!

Oh right, yes, now I rememeber why I don't go to the cinema every day even though i absolutely love it! Twentyeight bloody pounds for two tickets!!
But the film was good, very funny.

Tuesday 26 January 2010

Tuesday night.

I am lucky enough to have the lovely company of the Italian tonight again. So I am dragging him off to the cinema again and this is what we are planning to see. It starts at 5.40pm and I don't finish until 5.30pm so I have to rush, rush, rush down to Leicester Square. Wouldn't mind to have time to buy some chocolate as well....

Monday 25 January 2010

Who ate the last magnum...?

...the Italian asked... What? Who? When? Oh no. Can I blame C even though she clearly said that she doesn't like them when she was here?

Holiday

The italian and I wanted to go to Italy for a week. So we both requested a week off from work in the middle of February. Mine came back fine.
The italian was told that they would get back to him. A few days later he was told that someone else had requested this week after him and got it approved, but he could have the week after. He explained that I couldn't go that week because I was needed at work.
We managed to find a week in March that worked for both of us and we both had it approved and booked our holiday.
The other day the Italian notices that on the board of everyones holiday he has been marked off as being on holiday on the week we first requested off that he couldn't have.
Am I the only one that is confused?? Bless the busy restaurant people that never have time to finish one though before another one comes along. Hopefully we are still ok to go the week in March.... Fingers crossed.

Up In The Air

I really, really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful and feel good film all the way through and it made me feel very privileged and lucky to have so many loved ones around me. And then when we left to go home it had started raining and the italian tried to squeeze me into the hood of his jacket so I wouldn't get wet on the 30 second walk home from the cinema.

Sunday 24 January 2010

Sleepy girl

Oh the ambitions I had for tonight, then reality kicked in and I fell asleep. This is what really happened... I went home, I was starving, I cooked some dinner - pasta (off course) with Olive oil (italian-off course) and that was it. Fridge empty, Sainsbury's closing early on Sundays. Sat on the sofa with the Italian and thought - great an hour and a half until the cinema starts, and then my body and mind just switched off. The Italian didn't want to wake me up because he knew I was tired so I woke up 10 minutes after the film had started... So I half-watched The Terminal with the Italian that was on TV, well to be honest I slept mostly... And now I have woken up and googled the cinema time and realised that it starts in 10 minutes again so we are now on our way to see Up in the air. Yay:) Review coming later... xx

Saturday 23 January 2010

Early night...

I am off to bed soon. Got stuck at work until after midnight last night and then back in at 7am this morning.
Had to go to my opticians after work, but as soon as I got home I just went for a quick run (which my body protested about big time) and then I had some dinner and watched Coco before Chanel that arrived from Lovefilm the other day, and I LOVED it:)
And now I am getting ready for bed to have some energy for another 7am start tomorrow.
The Italian is off tomorrow so maybe, if I don't feel too tired, I'll drag him to the cinema after work. There's quite a lot on that I'd like to see. My friend N went to see Up in the air the other day and said it was amazing, but somebody also said that the Meryl Streep film was really funny and it feels like quite an easy Sunday afternoon film. Who knows, maybe I'm too tired and just want to relax at home.

Friday 22 January 2010

Lovely evening

I had a great night last night with my friend L and her boyfriend A. A mentioned that he had been a bit dissapointed when he had been eating steak out lately, so I invited them over to ours for steak sometime, and said that the Italian would be more than happy to cook for them. So basically I solicited out my boyfriends cooking skills just like that, even though I know how hard he works. The things you do to spend some more time with lovely L & A. But my lovely, adorable boyfriend just looked at me, when I told him last night when he came home after 17 hours of work, and just said - off course, when are they coming over? Aw he is amazing my man:)

This morning that was supposed to be lazy and quiet ended up being a bit stressful, rushing into town with the Italian for his meeting and then back home to get ready for work, a quick shower and off I went. But while I was in town I had time for a bagel and hot chocolate at a cute little cafe in Kingly Court:)

Lie in

I have to work tomorrow night but just found out that i don't need to start until 2pm. I was very excited about having a lazy morning and spend some time with my prince on his day off, only to be told that he has to be somewhere at 10.30am..:(
He said I could come but I started sulking and said that I won't be going anywhere... But I knew all along that off course I will go with him... I am just a grumpy cow sometimes.

Outfit

Off to see my friend L tonight and this is what my brain put together for me this morning, with three minutes to spare, after pilates and before rushing off to work. Usually I know what I want to wear but this morning I couldn't think of anything. So it had to be a spur of the moment outfit.
This is the cardy that I bought at H&M this weekend and it was on sale and a real bargain:) I bought a larger size than normal which makes it really cosy, but I wouldn't have minded if it was a little bit longer still. The lovely big ring was a present from C when she came on Saturday, from a shop in Madrid, and I love it. The small ring was a present from the italian when we were in Italy this summer.

Weirdo on a bike

I am trying to learn italian at the moment and I got a cd thingy from my parents for christmas that I have downloaded on my iphone and I am listening to it on my way to work. Normally I'll just mumble along with the lady in my ears so that people won't notice my weird behaviour too much. But there are times when I get so frustrated with myself for getting it wrong, when I am 100% sure that she is about to say something and then she turns around and says something else...
At these times I get quite annoyed and repeat it very loudly for myself so that I will remember. I then look around and realise that I am standing by a red light and people in their cars and on their motorbikes, pushbikes or mopeds are looking at me as if they would like to phone somebody and have me sectioned. Ah well, we can't be perfect all the time.

Feeling Blue:(

Back at work again. It feels like this time with C just flew by and I can't believe it is over already. I also miss my Italian man a lot. It feels like I haven't seen him for ages and I know that we won't have a day off together next week either because I am working next Sunday. I miss him a lot.... And on Friday when he is off I might have to work a double now because a girl at work caught some tummy bug and I am not sure she will be able to work Friday night... I am keeping all my fingers crossed that I don't have to though.

The last night

This is the musical we went to see and it was really really good. It was funny and the music was great. The lead actress Patina Miller had the most amazing voice, she was brilliant. Sheila Hancock was off course also great as always. In fact the whole cast were really good. I'd definitely recommend it. Unfortunately the guy that we got the tickets from had a virus and wasn't in the show last night. A good reason to go and watch it again. I would like to bring the italian to see it as well, I am sure he would enjoy it. He was supposed to be off yesterday but he had to work in the end, so he ended up making tiramisu in the middle of the night when he came home so C could try it before she left. So that's what they had for breakfast this morning...

I just sent C off to the airport and it feels really empty here in the flat now. The italian is off but he is asleep and everything is so quiet. I have to start getting ready for work though:(

Had the most amazing time with C and I really really miss her now.

Tuesday 19 January 2010

My time with C so far

Every day started with a lovely typial "swedish" breakfast - toast, cereal, yoghurt, vegetables etc

Sunday was dedicated to shopping in Camden where I found a gorgeous dress and some beautiful necklaces:)

Monday's shopping had to have a few breaks with tea, cakes and salads.

This is the lovely Yumchaa by Carnaby Street

Before going off for even more shopping

And today has been a lovely, relaxing, lazy day with a late start and a walk in the park and now we are getting ready for the musical.

Lazy morning...

Woke up late and then went for a run while I let C have an even longer lie in.

We've just finished eating a lovely breakfast and now we're going to go for a nice walk by the canal and in the park.

Off to a musical tonight.

Monday 18 January 2010

The weekend's shopping

Another day of shopping....

That ended with us passing a cute little florist so these two bouquets just had to come home with us. The tall one is a present from lovely C and I bought my first english tulips for this year.

More about the rest of the shopping later. Now some pasta with cherry tomatoes and garlic bread.

My lovely weekend with C

Saturday morning was mainly spent just counting the seconds until she was finally going to arrive. The Italians brother came to see us about 2pm and then finally at 3.15 I get the call that C is waiting for me by Liverpool street station.

I then realise that I'm not even dressed yet and I am still in my dressing gown since I had a shower. I throw on some clothes and jump on my bike to go and get her. 10minutes later I arrive and the weekend can finally start. We walk back to the flat and just sit there and catch up for a bit.

We got ready and all four of us go went our other favourite local restaurant L'Anima. After dinner C and I wanted to spend some time alone so the Italian and his brother went off to town to meet up with a friend of his and go dancing.

C and I walked through Shoreditch and found a new cool bar called Avalon. So we went in and had a cocktail and then walked home in the pouring rain. We had to warm ourselves up with some tea and chocolate when we got home and went bed about 2am I think. The Italian comes stumbling home about 5am;)

Sunday morning we had a nice lie in and then we woke the boys and had a massive Swedish breakfast. C and I went to lovely Camden for some shopping. And I ended up buying some (gorgeous) things I can't afford. And we went to a coffee shop for coffee and muffins and a Greek salad.

In the evening we had some lovely pasta that the Italian made and we tried to get into celebrity big brother on TV but realised that we don't really know who anyone is so we give up.

Now we're on our way into town to spend some more money I don't have. At least it puts a smile on my face when I come home with something beautiful. Spending time with C is beyond lovely. I don't want this time to end and I'm already planning my next trip to Barcelona to go to see her.

Party pooper

Yes, I am already at home. But I don't want to take any risks being out in the cold. I will repeat myself from before I will NOT be sick this weekend. And almost everyone at work seems to smoke, so we are standing outside and it is freezing.
An old friend of mine always used to say, whenever we were decided which place to go for a drink, that it doesn't matter what the place looks like, all that matters is which pavement is nicer because that's where we all end up standing anyway. And it's very true. So I decided to go home and make myself some dinner instead, only to arrive and realise that we have no food in the fridge, because we are getting a big food delivery tomorrow morning. This is the weird combo that is being made at the moment: Pasta (off course) with sweetcorn (from a can) and chopped tomatoes (from a can) hmm can't say that I am overly excited but I am too hungry to care. Anyway that's what I am doing tonight now, eating weird food and l continue reading my book.

Friday:)

No this isn't going to turn into a fashion blogg, well I don't think so I don't really know what this blog does yet... I read a few fashion blogs yesterday and it made me realise that I want a completely new wardrobe and it felt like everything in mine was really boring. But this is what i managed to scrape together for the leaving drinks/party tonight.

The lovely necklace is from a cute little boutique in my hometown called Twinnies or Tweenies or something like that, and it was a birthday present from my parents a few years ago, the shirtdress is again from a cute little boutique that is just around the corner from my friends flat in Barcelona, the tights are from Vila which is my favourite clothes shop when I go to Sweden (it is actually a Danish brand), the Mui Mui boots are quite thin and cold so they needed a pair of knee high socks from H&M to keep my feet a bit warmer. The watch is from Calvin Klein and a birthday present from the Italian last year, and the ring is from Accessorize and it was £10, a bargain considering I am almost obsessed with it and wear it with everything.

Thursday 14 January 2010

Keeping warm

All the lemsip and 500 cups of green tea seems to be helping. I just finished watching looking for eric that lovefilm sent to me the other day. It was a bit slow but had a nice ending, with me in tears as always.
And now I've settled down with yet another cup of tea and a new book I just started reading. Seems good so far. Liked his last book so very excited about this one. Dödergök was brilliant. Really gripping and again had me in tears a few times.
I hope I'll feel good when I wake up tomorrow.
Leaving party for H tomorrow night and then four lovely days with C. Can't wait.

Under the weather

I now have another explanation to why I was so hungry yesterday - I was about to get sick. For some reason I have always done that, just before I get sick my body tells me that I need more energy so it keeps asking for food all day long.
The Italian went to work with fever this morning and I felt so sorry for him, he really didn't look well but he would never ever in a million years phone in sick if he is well enough to get out of bed - fever or not. I am the same I suppose but if I knew, like him, that I would have to stand up and work for 17 hours straight I don't know if I could do it.
So today I am chewing Lemsip like never before. I don't normally like to take tablets until I am really sick, and to be honest normally it doesn't go any further than just a bad cold for me. But I am feeling weak and my ear hurts, my throat hurts and my nose is really blocked so I am taking no risks this time. There is NO WAY I am going to be sick when C is here this weekend.
I will buy another pack on my lunch break for the italian as well and hopefully we will both feel better when we wake up tomorrow.

Wednesday 13 January 2010

Fat bum

I'll tell you why - the moment you start watching what you eat, you end up constantly hungry, even if the portions and the food actually isn't really any different from your ususal meals - another reason I hate this no-cycling agenda I am dealing with at the moment. Normally because I run and exercise and cycle and all sorts I never really care about what I eat. The reason I do all those things is mainly so I can eat what I want, because I LOVE food.
But the day you wake up and think that your stomach is a bit flabby and maybe for today I need to be a bit careful: BAM - the hunger kicks in.
But I am lucky today, because the italian is off so he has promised a nice home cooked meal for me when I get home. Hopefully this will be something healthy but filling. But I am not sure I can wait until then. Maybe I will have to raid the cupboards here and see if somebody has left something that will quiet my screaming stomach for now, and keep my fingers crossed that the street are safe enough to go running tomorrow morning.

Stupid tube

Yes, you guessed it - I am back on the disgusting tube after ONE day of cycling. I mean it's not like there has been a mountain of snow over night, and if there were just some proper cycle lanes in this town I could easily cycle.
But the though of cycling in the middle of London traffic when the roads are so slippery. No thank you. If you lose control and then end up face down in the snow, it feels like you are quite vulnerable lying on the middle of the road like that.
So anyway, got to my station this morning and it was one minute left for my train to arrive, great:) I get my book out and get completely caught up in the story, step on the train when it arrives. Still caught up in my book I sit there nice and calm only to realise that it is snowing outside the train. Hmm this line doesn't go outside except right where I live. So at the next station I look up and I am in Kings Cross!! Well that's only the completely opposite direction from where I wanted to go... Ok so off the train I go and have to fight with all the commuters at probably the worst time on the worst station. So instead of being early and calm, I arrive late and stressed - Again.

Tuesday 12 January 2010

Tickets booked

We have booked tickets for the week in March to go to Italy and I have just this second booked tickets to go to Sweden for a few days in February as well. Yay. Anything to cheer up a grey and dull Tuesday...

Finally

I dusted off my bike this morning after a week of horrible public transport with snotty, sneezy people who, most of them, don't even have the manners to cover their mouths. YUK!

The photo above is from the snow last February outside my old flat, rather then the little teeny weeny snow fall we had now...

Monday 11 January 2010

Guess where I went after work:)

Yes I know what the Italian told me yesterday about not buying anything else for the flat, and I listened, I really did, but... There was this thing on the balcony that broke one windy night so clearly I HAD to go there to replace it... And then maybe... a few other things happened to get in the basket as well, but nothing huge and only things we really needed... And I bought a lot of food for him that he will enjoy.
So now I have spent the last half an hour outside on our balcony freezing my a**e off, getting everything in the place where I want it.
I am pleased but I still think something is missing... hmm I probably need to go to Habitat after all. Hopefully they will still have a sale on when C is here at the weekend and we can go and have a look together..:) And I can't wait to show the Italian what the balcony looks like now, so I wish he would hurry up and get home from work, but until then shhh for now, because my very exciting book is waiting for me with a nice cup of tea and maybe a little something to snack on that I bought today...

Getting older

It is my "half year birthday" today, so I am turning something and a half... What happened - it feels like it was only yesterday it was my birthday? When I was little my mum and dad always used to make me half a cake today and then when I got older we just used to order pizza to celebrate, but today I think a cup of green tea will have to do, considering I still feel full from the Pizza I had last night, it might also be because of all the chocolate I bought on the way home from the restaurant....

Bo***cks

Was so looking forward to getting back on my bike today after a week of slippery street and a no-way-in-hell-I'll-cycle feeling. Only to wake up this morning and realise that it's been snowing again last night.
Yes I know I live in London and it's not proper snow, but I still don't want to cycle in it. So the germ infested tube it is...
At least that means I get to read all the way to work. This is the book I'm reading at the moment and I'm already hooked, even though I've just started, and I'm only on page 79.
Have a great day and be careful in the snow. Ciao for now.

Sunday 10 January 2010

Today's shopping

So this is what I found. Unfortunately the light in here doesn't really do the colours justice. But I love, love, love the dress and it's very me. I probable need to buy some new shoes to go with is as well:)
The italian is watching Rocky (that he got from my parents for xmas amongst other things) and I am working out what I am going to wear when we are off to our favourite local restaurant for dinner in a bit.
Probably my new top with some jeans and boots.

Lunch and shopping

Thie Italian wanted to go shopping. I just wanted to curl up in bed and do nothing except drink lots of hot chocolate... The new cleaner came at 12 so we had to get out for a few hours anyway.
So in to town we went. Wow 50% sale in Habitat! We HAVE to buy something for the flat i said. He replied - If you are not careful we are going to have to stop buying something for the flat and instead buy another flat for all the something. Ok point taken...
So instead we went to my favourite shop right now - Anthropologie, and I spent some money in there instead:)
And now, on our way to covent garden we stopped for a sandwich and the hot chocolate I've been wanting all day.

Saturday 9 January 2010

After a bottle and a half....

So I was supposed to go home after work like a good girl and have some healthy pasta and do some pilates and be healthy. But instead... I get dragged out for a drink by my good friend N. So I just arrived home now. Making some pasta for dinner. Food I am sure that the Italian would disapprove of... But I like it... There's cherry tomatoes and basil involved which would make him proud I'm sure....
Always good fun and lots of laughs involved with N and he has promised that we will have a proper boogie night next week when my best friend C is here to visit from Barcelona.
I thought we would end up in Soho but we ended up in this dirty old pub instead...

Great news in my Inbox

My holiday has been agreed for the beginning of March. So the Italian and I will go to Italy for a week for his surgery.

FIRST POST

Ok so here it is - my blog. How exciting. Not really sure why I am doing this. I suppose mainly because I live away from my family and friends and this is a way for them to follow my stupid life here in London...
