Last nights dinner

A very simple dinner that is healthy and quick.
Crack three eggs and add salt and pepper
Dice and slice. In this case feta cheese and tomatoes
Heat up some oil in the pan. Put in the eggs and after a while add the cheese and tomatoes.
Just before it's finished, add the spinach
And Voila! A feta, tomato and spinach omelet. Yum!

Good morning Thursday

First lie in this week and I wake up at 5am. I suppose my body is used to that now. I managed to go back to sleep though and I only woke up when the Italian kissed me goodbye at 7.30. I got up and thought I'd go back to bed after a bit, but when I realised that the sun was shining, I got dressed in my gym gear and went for a Power Walk instead. It is such a glorious morning today. As usual I see all from boats to locks to canals to birds to luscious green park on my walk. I just got home now and had some breakfast. Greek yoghurt and sugar free muesli with raspberries and blueberries. An actimel to keep the germs away and some green Peach tea with soya milk. Yes I know you shouldn't have milk in green tea but that's how I like it.
I've always been a girl who has been obsessed with low fat everything. I have now completely stopped buying low fat food. I'm all about full fat yoghurt and cheese and everything now and I've cut down on sugar instead. It feels so much better. Unfortunately they only had the 0% fat actimel when I was in the shop last so I had to go with it. I'm sure it's not too big a deal for just a tiny thing, but they add so many weird things to low fat food. Anyway let's get on with the day. I have a few things to do at home before heading off to the gym for Body Conditioning that hopefully hasn't been cancelled today.

UPDATE: I've been told that it's Friday today - not Thursday.

Gym Food

I always struggle with my food when I am going to the gym. If I finish at 5 and the class start at 6 I always have a dilemma about food. I will have eaten about 10.30 am and then maybe had a bit of a snack around 3pm, but I sometimes feel like that's not enough. Yesterday however I finished at 3pm so I cycled home and had an afternoon snack/late lunch of smoked salmon and avocado with some crème fraîche. And then when I got to the gym for body conditioning I felt like I had more energy than I normally do (obviously). So when I was told that it was cancelled I was really disappointed. I ended up going to spinning instead and to be honest that was probably the best spinning class ever for me. That is one class that is tough to do if you don't have enough energy. And then after I'd cycled home I clearly needed to eat something so I had a protein bomb with mackerel and egg on ryvita. Very yummy indeed. I wish I could eat like this every day.

Tuesday night.

I left the sunshine on the balcony for a bowl of raspberries with Greek yoghurt (yum) and Seven (not so yum). And now I think we might sign out for today. I've only had max 6 hours sleep the last few days and I'm back up at 4 tomorrow so an early night sounds good.

Sunday

Just ran from work in a rain storm. Waiting outside the food shop for the Italian to come and meet me. Looking forward to buying some healthy food for my new healthy life style that I am returning to today. Have been eating far too much the last few weeks with Italy and visits from Sweden. And then we'll have a nice movie night tonight I think.

Tuesday night

Zumba is done. Shower is had. I am now chilling on the sofa catching up on the latest episode of Cougar Town with a fruit salad of strawberries, blueberries, banana, yoghurt and Italian honey. Yum!

And then there were four....

My no bread, sweets or alcohol diet was put on hold on Thursday night when we went to Tempo. Both focaccia and dessert was consumed. So when I came home I though might as well tuck into the present that I got from Carin:)
My absolute favourite flavours. The one I ate was whole nut.
Now I'm going to try and be good until the next time I have a special occasion. Maybe Easter. Not too long to wait in that case. It is easier than I though to stick to it this time. We'll see how long it lasts.
I've decided that if I'm going out for dinner etc with friends I'll eat what I fancy but I won't eat any of the three above on just a random day. It feels easier to stick to this way.

Tuesday

It's already Tuesday. It only feels like yesterday it was Friday. I don't mind the weeks going fast now though, only two and a half weeks left until we take off on holiday:)

My body was aching a bit from Body Combat last night, but it feels better after a swim this morning, it stretched all the muscles out nicely.

I am sorry that it is all food and exercise talk at the moment, but I feel like all I do is work, gym, eat.

I am however going on a date at La Ratatouille with the Italian tonight since he is off today.
And tomorrow I am meeting friends at Cecconi's after work for a catch up before Step Aerobics.
So I have a little bit of a life this week.
Last night I spoke to my mum, and in the mean time I did the washing up from the night before, folded clothes that were dry, hang up the wet clothes from the washing machine, put in a new load in the machine, and cooked dinner.
I made cous cous with salmon, spinach, cherry tomatoes and a bit of cream cheese.
It was yummy.
Sometimes I wish I could learn to just sit and do nothing.
I never do. Even when I am watching a film I am doing a million things at the same time (if I am alone, in company I usuall manage to behave) I suppose that's part of my failed new years resolution...
I'll work on it.

Monday morning

Good Morning all.
I hope you had a nice weekend.
Mostly work for me, but I had a nice night off with boyfriend last night. We watched SATC2 (even though I'd watched it two days ago on my own...)
I am on a late start all this week (8.30am) so I decided to go for a swim this morning before work.
I had forgotten how nice it is to swim and how great you feel afterwards.
I was absolutely starving when I came to work so I went to M&S and bought lots of nice, healthy breakfast things.
A very good start to the day indeed.
Quite hungry now again though so I had to top up with some nuts and fruit.
I feel very energetic and great for it though so I might have to make it a habit for every morning this week.
Some people power walk every morning (I find it too dark and scary where I live) so I'll go for a swim instead.
And then if something comes up that means I'll miss one of my evening classes, then at least I've had some exercise that day.
Great!

Busy Morning

I woke up early and had my usual hot water with lemon drink, and today I also added some cayenne like Veronica advised me to do. IN the mean time I spoke to my dear friend in Australia to see how they are doing with everything going on over there. They are fine and we were on the phone for nearly an hour.
I watched an episode of 24 whilst getting ready for the gym, on my way to the gym I went to the post office to send of some late Christmas present (sorry Gen..)
I also went to paperchase to buy a calender for 2011... Yes I have known for 12 months that the year was coming to an end even this time and I'd need a new calender for when that happened...
Did I buy one in time?
No, I never do.
I get like a kid in a sweetshop when I go to stationary shops. I don't know what it is, but I just love things that makes you organised.
And now I've just arrived home for some lunch after a tough 45 minute spinning class (once again, first one there, clearly I am very keen)
And now I am going to get dressed and head off to the boatshow.
I might even put on some make up today...

Day off

My day so far
I went home from the gym via HMV. As a girl who's boyfriend is working doubles these two days when I am off I have to say that I couldn't be more pleased with their sale.
The queen of chic flics has obviously already seen all of them, except Heartbreaker, but with things like "the rom-com of the year" written on the front of it I think we'll get on fine.
I had a late lunch with about half a liter of tea in my favourite cup
A great choice for a rainy day, candles, pyjamas and films.

Sunday was a bit of a rush around with an hours drive to High Wycombe, a three hour show and then another hours drive home.
And in between all this we sat backstage for a good half an hour and then we took the girls for something to eat before their next show started.
So it is nice to just sit and do nothing today.

Lots of things planned for tomorrow - including a boat show:)

Body Fitness

I never made it to the gym last night. I was stuck in bed shivering and with stomach pains that made me almost paralysed.
So today was the first day back this year and I was well geared up for it. I went to a class called Body Conditioning and it was sooooo good. I thought it was a mix between pilates and yoga, and I was a bit worried since I am about as flexible as a hippopotamus.....
But it then turned out that it was more like the exercise videos you can buy in the shops, just a lot more intense. I thought it'd be hard to get back into it but I actually had the most energy out of everybody there I think.
It feels good to be back:)

New morning rutin

Hot water with lemon every morning now. And back to the gym tonight who have finally opened proper hours today.
Four and a half weeks to go and I feel confident that I will get fitter in that time.

Thursday

We have had an extremely lazy day, mostly on the sofa.
At one point we walked for a little bit to do some errands, then back on the sofa - new TV serie in the box - Criminal Minds. SO GOOD!
I've got a bit of a headache now though because I am so tense throughout while watching it :).
We had to take a little break and go to the cinema.
Love and other drugs is what we watched.
Very different from the murder we've seen the rest of the day...
For dinner I made beetroot rice with Haloumi cheese.
And that is our day summed up:)

Good Morning Thursday

The Italian didn't get back until about 1.30 this morning so we have only just woken up.
Nothing planned yet for today, but I thought I'd start with a good breakfast that will last me a while.
I got so many amazing Christmas presents, I love every single one of them:)
This beautiful mug from Indiska is from my lovely sister, and it has quickly become my favourite cup.

Tonight's dinner

Quinoa with prawns, tomatoes and peas
This is what happens when there is no food in the flat and I got back into the pyjamas straight after I got out of the shower after my run.
I then realised that I hadn't had dinner yet so this is what I found.
Still watching Coupling, and waiting patiently for the Italian to come home:)

Tuesday, 28 December 2010

I just spoke to the Italian for a whole 15 minutes:) I finally found out how his Christmas was and his presents and all sort of things about how his holiday is:)
I never started watching Julie & Julia I got caught up in Coupling instead that my lovely sister lent me.
It's a British comedy and I quite like it.
I made myself a little snack as well to stop myself from running to the shop for chocolate.

Pressure

The Italian and I are planning our February Holiday and I am so excited.
I can feel the sun on my skin already.
Well, I say we are planning it, but I have never spoken to him as little as I have now when we have both been on holiday.
Every time I've called him, he is on his way somewhere and the other way around.
He gets back from Italy late tomorrow night and we have ALL day Thursday off together. I can't wait.
We've had a bit of text contact though with different suggestions when it comes to destinations and things so hopefully we might actually book something on Thursday.
I need to seriously cut back on all the chocolate eating though if I am going to feel comfortable wearing a bikini in a month. Well at least until the gym starts their proper opening hours so I can start going again.
For now I am going to enjoy my super healthy dinner and start to watch Julie & Julia
